I always asked people what year they thought it was and most said 1996 to 1998 and the other didn't even know who made it or what it was. :tongue:

he had bolt ons, and I was running a jdm H22A type S swap with JUN cams, Euro R IM, stock air box with mugen lid and filter, Mugen header, A'PEXi N1 catback, and a VAFC.

EDIT: I think I was running a chipped P28 at that time, not a VAFC

I said I estimated 215whp, I dont really know how much I was making. I never had it dyno'ed. The JDM type S is good for almost 200whp stock. I had JUN c spec cams, other bolt ons, a good tune. I'm sure that was good for another 15+ whp, maybe more.

I love watching Clarkson but the VQ35 != French. The VQ was designed in the early '90s BEFORE Nissan was well into the red and picked up Ghosn as the first non-Japanese CEO and made a relationship with Renault (see: bails Nissan out from certain death) due to a former position. Because the VQ has worked it's way into Renault cars or that it's plants are funded with Renault money doesn't mean that the engine isn't Nissan, especially considering its existence before the partnership (see: VQ30DE, VQ30DET, VQ30DE-K)
