I read the entire thing since I couldn't hear it all... http://www.thenewspaper.com/news/19/1961.asp
I've always had a scanner and the last 4 years or so an in-car camera. There are no laws against either. I know in Georgia the officers mics are wired to the in-car camera's recorder and all marked patrol cars have cameras. It protects both the officer and citizens. The videos are public information too ;)
I always loved officers that acted like asses, simply ask to speak to their supervisor or captain and if they are truly out of line it will be resolved rather quickly. Normally with a have a nice day.

Apparently the guy had an "attitude". How the fuck do cops expect people to respect them when they talk to someone like that. They need to quit that "boy" name calling shit.

Wow,I've had similar stuff happen but NO WHERE near this..
Someone is going to make a lot of money off of that idiot.
What in the hell was he thinking!?
I can't say I hate cops because they have a shitty job I respect them actually, its just unfortunately they cannot trust anyone. Imagine being in Iraq with an I love America T-Shirt and ur handed a gun...thats how some cops feel.
Not saying I agree with ANYTHING above (video) but I dont mind when a cop is somewhat assertive in gaining control of the process. That make sense?

dirty ass cops were the targets
I love how immature the people on this website are. The difference in responses between IA and Ferrarichat are completely different (except for the kids on fchat) for the same video.
The kid gave the cop lip, what the hell do you expect? It's not like the cop ran up and dragged the kid out of the car. He approached him respectfully until the kid talked back with his attitude.

exactly. cop was just doing his job til the kid starting being a dick. should've just given him the ID and told him he was waiting for a friend.
would've saved him 15 minutes of sucking up. but then he proceedes to talk shit again.

Why shouldnt the kid have done that? This country has come to the point where people are forced to be threatened and intimidated by cops when they have done nothing wrong. The kid was completely within his legal rights to say what he did and not answer certain questions. The cop explodes and threatens him with charges then fabricates lies about the preceding events. He is more than abusing his discretion and needs to be thrown off of his power trip. I guess in your opinion I am now immature:rolleyes: I'm all for the support of cops, but when they are in the wrong they need to be dealt with accordingly.

hmm cameras are always good for that reason also.. if i had one of these things hooked up to my car when my incident happened .. i would have been a rich beeochh

I'm not arguing about the kid's right, merely how he handled the situation. Did the cop do anything? No. Would he have had he not learned about the camera? Only he knows that. I'm not saying we should just bend over and take anything cops, but what occurred on the video is understandable (for the most part). The officer has a responsibility to protect the kid and himself. How does he know the kid wasn't there to sell drugs, rob someone, or even kill himself? By the way, where did I call you immature? I was speaking to the people who are just like "fuck cops" and "I would have pissed in his face." Some people need to stfu.

so an attitude gives a cop the right to file false charges?

WAHT?!?!?!?! are you serious? wow..
and the kid is right. you dont have to say where you are going or where you are coming from.. i usualy do when i get pulled over for something wrong, because then i know i cant get away with it. but if i know i didnt do anything wrong, ill tell him its none of his business..

But if you are on government property, you do. Especially at 2am in a commuter lot.

thats pretty ridiculous. I mean, you have to be stupid to talk to a cop like that, thats pretty much asking for trouble. But the cop was out of line when he started sayin that he was going to make up moving violations to have his car towed and him put in jail.
Like i said, the kid shouldn't have provoked it, but the cop was out of line.

you don't waive rights just because your on gov't property. that lot was also 24/7. i completely understand your point though. the cop was nice enough in the beginning, but what he did was wrong. imagine if there was no camera and the kid decided to be a total smartass. he'd have b.s. charges pending, which he'd most likely be found guilty for. that cop doesnt need to be a cop.

Yeah because every single cop is like that. I love it when someone is "supposedly" always profiled to be pulled over or pulled over for BS reason(even though they were going 20 over) and the cops are always the assholes and dirty. People seem like they'll never learn that not all cops are like that. That's the same thing as if I were jumped by a black person. Under your reasoning, I should hate all black people because one of them robbed me. And you think you're profiled. Later, QD.

No matter what we think, Cops think and for the most part above the law. Because, in the end, who are they going to believe? A citizen, or someone who is supposed to uphold the law.

there are 2 ways this cop could have handled the situation. he picked the DICK way. ok...he mentioned half way through that cars get broken into, blah blah.
The cop should have walked up to the car..."Excuse me sir, y are you parked her?"
kid "Am I not allowed to park here"
cop(what he shoulda said) "there are quite a few break ins here and I just want to make sure your not going to do anything"
the cop could have been reasonable but he didnt. sure the kid had lip but doesnt mean the cop is allowed to threaten him

eh ive had an expired cardboard tag for about 3 months and i got pulled over , pulled out my insurance and license...not even a bill of sale and got a warning only...cop said my car would be towed next time
i got pulled over AGAIN almost 1 week later...cop gave me a warning and laughed about it , joked around...and said to go to it ASAP
generally cops are not bad...but its the type of cops shown in the video that give other cops a bad name...
ps: i have registration now :)

Yeah he's right. I mean he could've just been like theres been a couple of break-ins lately on cars that are parked here and I just wanted to check and see what was going on with you, but instead he blew up. That cop was a dick...not all cops, cause I knew a cop that tried everything in his power not to arrest me for driving with a suspended license that I didn't know I had, but he had to and I'm not mad at him for it. But this cop was way out of line and had a huge power trip and it sucks how if he didn't have this camera in his car, he would've probably got :idb:. They never believe citizens on cases like these, especially if its one as wild as this.

LOl i like how the cop starts thinking about his job when he found out about the video cam,And i am sry but u don't have to tell a cop shit about were your going and what your doing, this kid was showing how cop's act like shi* when they think there above the law.
and i no this from 1st hand because my last coworker got 100k after everything over a law suit in colorado cause the cop did the same thing and end up arresting him for some bs and broke his nose on the way in the car.

That kid had no respect for the officer at any point in the video. Maybe the kid was dying for footage since he knew that he had the tools to make a good exposure video. When an officer approaches you there's a certain level of respect that should be displayed (it simply makes the process easier).
The officer did overreact, but the cop didn't file charges, he simply threatened the kid (if i read right). The cop was obviously distraught over the fact that this young child (in his eyes) had total disregard to his presence. Some people get pushed to the limit and that office did that night - not saying that what the officer did was correct but that officer set aside his professionalism and responsibility to talk shit to this kid the same way that kid would probably talk shit on a 'person to person' basis.
If the kid cooperated this incident would've never took place.
If you think simply think i'm defending the cop - you're an...Id.. Not thinking enough.
p.s
that clicking sound... wow!
