Theres a picture. Its here locally, but im sure if they are good cars or not? is the resell value decent if i got a better motor in it, and painted it up? thanks id advanced. give all feed back please :D

You would be unlikely to get your money back out of it. Only a die-hard rotary nut would know what it really is.
I want it. I already have a motor for it. I could make that car truely sick.

Build 13B-REW, bug turbo. I have it already. Less parts to have to change out, easier to get them than a 350 swap. Most guys that do go V8 in a first gen go 302.

What are you referring to? 350, 302, or 13B-REW?

I'm not selling my Chevy or Ford V8s right now (mainly because they need to stay in the cars that they are in currently), but I do have a built 13B-REW that is out and available. It's what I would go with. PM me for info - or let me know where that FB is sitting.:D

A 350 would be a thousand times cheaper AND easier than a 13B-REW. And a 350 would be easier to get a hold of. And run better LoL

NOT saying i would put a 350 in it. But a 13B-T out of a second gen isn't nearly as hard of a swap as B-REW motor.

Thats a pretty cool find you got there. Pick it up and just put a 12a back in it, or an N/A 13b and paint it and have some fun it it. N/A rotaries are really reliable despite popular belief, and first gens are like go carts!! (i've had two).

The other night i was trying to think of who else has owned first gen rx7's... i thought you did, and i do believ ei remember you from like SEDA or something.
anyone want to donate a running motor to get this thing going? :)
really though, why do people put down the rotary motor so much? id like everyone's opinions on this question. thanks in advanced.

I've had more 1st gens than you've probably ever driven. No joke.
I have cars with 350s and 302s. Rotarys are simplier and cost less to get power out of - if you know what you are doing. Plus more reliable.

Putting any rotary in is not hard. For a 350, you have to buy a mount kit. For a REW, you need a 12a or GSL-SE front cover tapped for the oil return. Front covers are easy and cheap to get. You also need a GSL-SE oil pan. $80 new at the dealership. Fuel system has to be changed for either engine, as does the ECU, but there is more support to Haltech.

13BT is good for up to 400 hp, then you need internal upgrades and downpinning. 13B-REWs already have hardened gears, etc. 13BT needs the same changes to put it in.

Oh yeah, I've actually done both swaps, as well as a 302. How about you?
