d16 on low boost (t3 .42/.48, .60/.48, or t25), socketed/chipped ecu, and tuning...you'll hit that easily. i would upgrade the clutch just in case. the stock one should hold, but it doesn't always (just tuned one today that started slipping around 170ish whp/wtq and it wasn't the first one that slipped at that power).

yeah... and as far as the p29 and pm7 pistons go... that's not really a road you want to go down... unless you are getting after-market ones made of a stronger material... I think NPR offers some for around $120... because the ring lands on those pistons will not last very long under the 12:1 compression even when properly tuned... and if you do go the high comp route... please get your shit balanced because if the piston weights do not match the weight of the throws on your crank, the rotors in your oil pump will be trashed and your engine will be destroyed.... however, as Scotty stated 170 HP could easily be had on boost with 6-8 psi and still be a reliable DD... then you wouldn't even have to go internal...

d16...... you can get a LS/Vtec motor for the low and you can EASILY make 160whp

get a greddy kit, run it on 6psi, get it tuned. 160whp easy

why would you spend $1000+ on a turbo kit when you can build a motor for less than that and have 160WHP NA, which will murder the turbo car

If it's non-vtec, do a minime build, with a decently built head (p&p, valve job, cams, valvetrain) using a z6 or d15b head (P08), bump your compression using aftermarket pistons. I agree with SIred that the ZC pistons will be too high compression for a DD, when I had this setup in my ef, my cylinder pressures were rediculously high. Add a good intake, IM, race header, and a chipped and tuned ECU, you will have a fairly fun a reliable little daily.
