I hope so with all these new songs about repetitive dances...They just all sound the same. I can't wait for the West Coast to get back on top.

lol the west coast will never be back on top.....mark my words on that they have a couple of good ppl coming up but they will never get the love of records labels like they did in the early-mid 90's again. the only rap/hip hop they really get played nationally any more is the rap that comes out of the south/midwest.... even new york rap other than jay-z doesnt get played anywhere outside of the northeast.

Yup. Because you know everything hip hop, right? Yeah. I thought not.

You don't even know, man.

but they will never get the love of records labels like they did in the early-mid 90's again.

That's because WC rappers don't want to become pop stars. WC rappers don't mind at all being on mixtapes and such.

the only rap/hip hop they really get played nationally any more is the rap that comes out of the south/midwest..

And it's a shame, too.

.. even new york rap other than jay-z doesnt get played anywhere outside of the northeast.

And I'm thankful for that. Later, QD.

o i know don't get it twisted i like west coast rap that is how i was introduced to rap. And its sad that the rappers on the come up in the wc, most people will never hear. Like Jazzy Jeff new album no songs of his will spin down here and only the true hip hop heads down here will go pick up the album. West coast rap is not commercial anymore and the way radio/record label execs are going they won't be commercial for quite awhile.

any appearances by fresh prince? ehhh his rapping days are over. Remember that song, "Nod ya head" LOL what a joke.

I like that one song w/ fresh prince and jazzy "If i was fred flintstone i'd probably own all of bedrock, if i was a criminal i'd prolly own a cell block, if i was in the navy i'd prolly own the sea, but i'm a poet so own the whole rap industry."

I'm wondering why you keep referring to the WC and Jeff in the same lines. Later, QD.

Snoop isn't keeping the West alive. And it is alive. Just because it isn't mainstream and commercialized doesn't mean it's dead. Later, QD.

HIP HOP = RAP, but RAP DOES NOT = HIP HOP

Jazzy Jeff once told me that I have some of the best song selection he's EVER heard :) I'm the man. Too bad I was the bitch in the rotation and ended up playing that 8PM to 10PM slot, with no one else around to listen :(

Sucks, too. I have his old stuff. That shit was awesome. You can tell a difference when he fucked up and did that. Props to him for making his money, but he sacrificed good rap for it. Later, QD.

haha, you should check 'em out. I'm not big into the hip-hop/rap scene, but i know bullshit when i hear it. (i.e.- anything on 95.5fm). IMO, Jurassic 5 sounds like real hip-hop as opposed to all the crap that's been labeled "hip-hop" these days.

I don't listen to anything that came out after 1994. That's my rule of thumb. I hear shit, but that's exactly what I think it is. Later, QD.

You can keep going all night long. You can list every single hip hop/rap album put out after 1994. What is your point? You still won't change "my opinion" on what I like to hear. Later, QD.

which leads me to this statement...

East Coast= THE ORIGINATORS
West Coast= THE IMITATORS.

I got love for Dre, Hiero crew, Quik, NWA and all of them, but they dont have shit on the east. The best rapper in the world will NEVER be frome California.

How is "your opinion" suppose to change "my opinion" on what "I" like to hear and what "I" think is the best? Not really understanding why you are arguing over another's opnion. Later, QD.

You always come across appearing to be attacking.

It was just an opinion. Not a point. Only point is the origination of hip hop/rap.

I'll be 37 on Thursday!!!! wahoo. I'm thrilled, lolol. I honestly can't tell you why I don't like it. I just can't stand the sound of it. It got too commercialized. Once the pioneers of each genre of rap started falling in behind the scenes, the originality went with them. Only thing I really got into was No Limit. I was at the record store every Tuesday from 1997-1999 when Master P was throwing shit out left to right every week. Other than that, I have to stick to the old school. Later, QD.
