i bought the clutch kit, fuel pump, and the engine mounts today. it put a pretty nasty dent in my wallet; so im definitely ready to get some money from my taxes so that this beast can get on the road sooner.

swaps not going to well. broke a bolt off in the block that holds the water pump on so thats f**ked up. Broke $15 in bits and bolt extractors and its still stuck. Rigged it up so hopefully it will hold. got some wiring done and the clutch, flywheel and trans switched over and cleaned. Also the bung for my O2 senser on my 4-2-1 header is striped out so I'll be running the stock manifold.

Worse parts is we got it in and it started on the first try. But then, oil started to spray out of the oil pump:( We had to tear the front all the way down to replace the o ring that got free and pressed betwen the block and the oil pump. Then the knock senser gave me some problems. I had the wrong wire hooked up to it.

Today I got to go clean the wireing up and make all the conections solid and figure out how to wire the fan back up and I should be good. O yea and I got a surpise coming with the valve cover.

really havent had time to play around with mine. I had to look up the check engine codes last night to figure out what it was flashing. Vtec presure switch was wired up wrong.

Ah, I see hmmm mine isnt trowing any codes anymore... its just that redline at 5800-6000 which I should be hiting 7000rpm with the y8? :screwy:

so the check engine light doesn't come on and go off when you start it? If its not then the light is burned out. but other than that I really don't know what would cause that other than the ECU or a senser error.

Ok well you have several choices in-front of you.

You can get an D-Series VTEC motor [which IMO would be better for you] because you can just keep your tranny.

B-Series hhmmmmmm LS, but you'll have to change the tranny and need another engine bay wiring harness so that the [ECU that you get] can atleast read where everything is

well sorry wasn't bustin your chops I was just giving my 2 cents about the situation and actually manual trans have more of the advantage. unless we're talking sb-bb powerglides with 1000+hp with 2 stage n02. by the time your turbo in your AUTO spools up im already gone in a manual turbo. No light isnt bad I cheked it by pulling the cluster out and changing bulbs out and the one in the check engine light worked in another so yea.
