Shipping large items ::: need advice...

Hey guys,

I got a lot of interested buyers for my rear hatch conversion, but have never shipped anything really big before. What have you guys used? How expensive is it? How did you pack it? Stores? Locations?

I just got done shipping some front seats with ups. I had to break them down and I let them pack them. It came to around $175 for shipping.


my suggestion is break shit down as small as possible and pack shit yourself! Unless your lazy (like me) and have someone willing to pay full shipping!

Just get a box and pack it your self.. than take it out to ups or fedex. If your doing local you should use ups... Or some where else in the states use Fedex, they seem to be the fastest...

Oh yea use alot of bubble wrap and peanuts!!!!! :) OLD NEWS PAPERS and all that goods stuff...

^thanks, man.whoa, something i never knew honda had?! i feel stupid now for spending hours designing the exact same tray with lid for the DC....i don't carry a donut because the car is too low to use one and i always keep cleaning supplies and a tool bag and misc. tools in the back...but can't stand stuff moving around. Got the idea when i saw a Mitsubishi Outlanders cargo tray :tongue:

shipping prices are rediculous..i shipped some door panels today and it was 40 bucks...shrinkwrapped not even including a box

That's pretty reasonable. Door panels are light. Places charge differently depending upon just weight, dimensions, or both.
