i would recommend shaving any lettering and painting it a solid color, or a solid color with a simple design. Possibly have it done the same color as the car's exterior

Im gonna strip it later and redeux it now that i know how it works. After these pics I tried to rush dry it by driving around with it on. Do not do that. Ive got spots now down by the manifold heat sheild

The H and the VTEC were also polished down, then masked prior to painting (dont try to polish it after you painted it)

i suggest before doing this to get another valve cover to work on. The paint on the bottom side is starting to blister. Im gonna strip it, prime it w/ etching primer and prime that w/ high temp BBQ grill paint. should keep it from getting hot from underneath

Do you have to use high temp paint on the valve cover? Last week I painted mine, I painted high temp paint, then the color I wanted (non high temp) and then a high temp clear. I wound up taking it all off before putting it on the car because I thought it would melt and didnt want the mess.
