Thanks guys for all the props. I met a few of you all very cool people  Look forward to meeting up with you all at the local meets :goodjob:

I can not thank each and everyone of you enough. The inspiration you guys gave me (us) is what got it done for the show. With that being said I will be posting pics of the past sessions putting her back together....

My father and I worked on the hatch 12-15 hours a day for several days. My brother SneezinCD5 joined us a few days before the show which gave us 10 hours of sleep in the 3 days before the show  :blah:

Here are some pics from my bro SneezinCD5 (HT):

I'll be back to post more & thanks for posting your pics :bannana:

Thanks for looking :goodjob:

PS <> Never would of happened without my father's and both my brothers help. My father stayed at my house 11 days working 12+ hours a day on her with me. My younger bro SneezinCD5 came up 3 days before the show and put in over 40 hours in those days. My older brother traveled 6 hours one way to trailer the car down and then back from paint  Many thanks and so happy to see the hard work paid off for us all :goodjob:  :bump:

10.9lbs not good enough these days

I really like the look of the Heliums and they are definitely lighter than the average wheel. I still may go for a set of Spring CP-R's if I find a mint set. But, for now got other things to focus on.....

Ahh, it will do, but some sick wheels are well worth the weight added. :D

It's not a bad look, but some high quality wheels would do the car justice.

BBR Competition wheels, google those, end wheel selection. If they made it with my lug pattern, i would have these. They're rare as hell. See the latest issue of Honda Tuning mag. you'll see why

Nope. This thread is far from over :bump: Still got a lot of cleaning up of the motor to do, depin and remove all the wiring I do not need, and quite a few small misc. things to do. Not to forget she is most likely getting boost early 2008  I'm hoping to do the work if it's a bolt on affair  You know I'll be working the :camera: while all that is taking place now that the rush is over

I have also decided the past few sessions before the show will not be posted until the following is done:

-- CEL is resolved
-- Exhaust installed
-- Tuning is completed

It's depressing to have this car complete and just sitting in the garage. So getting her on the road is top priority at this time. I know you guys want a photoshoot and some vids of her in action, right? Won't happen until all 3 are complete so I know you understand

Here is what my Kpro showed just a few minutes ago:

Code: 41-1 DTC: P1166 Heated Oxygen Sensor Sensor 1 (Primary HO2S)

Info on the car.....
Car: 1995 VX
ECU: 2003 K20a2 w/Kpro (kpro installed in August 07)
Wiring: Hybrid Racing Harness
Sensor: Brand New Denso OEM Oxygen Primary sensor

CEL comes on for 2 seconds when fuel pump primes then turns off. After about 4-5 seconds of running the car the CEL comes on and remains on.....

Diagnose Session 001:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Kpro/Diagnose/Session%20001/KproCELtroubleshoot001piccropped.jpg

Diagnose Session 002:

I went back to make sure OBD II was disabled

This menu remained as shown (shadowed) while car was running and being diagnosed:

Looks like the immobilizer is enabled :crook: I'm 99.99999% sure the immobilizer should be disabled :screwy:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Kpro/Diagnose/Session%20002/KproCELtroubleshootSession002pic3cr.jpg

Start up (maybe running for 10 seconds):

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Kpro/Diagnose/Session%20002/KproCELtroubleshootSession002pic1cr.jpg

Approximately 2 minute of running:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Kpro/Diagnose/Session%20002/KproCELtroubleshootSession002pic2cr.jpg

Approximately 3-4 minutes of idling:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Kpro/Diagnose/Session%20002/KproCELtroubleshootSession002pic5cr.jpg

I'm really new to this stuff so not really sure where the numbers should be. I believe I also recorded a datalog but not sure if I did it correctly. I clicked "Datalog" and then "Record". I did not see "STOP" so I just turned the car off. I'm going to watch the kpro software vids again and again and again...

Thanks for any help :police:

Well after trying to diagnose the problem with Hybrid Racing I pulled the wiring, ECU, O2 and it's in the mail to LA. With the relay being bad on the harness they want to trouleshoot the setup in their K powered EG. Hopefully I will have everything back by next Thursday so I can get the exhaust put on Friday. If that happens I'll be rippin' through i-vtec friday afternoon

I'm going to pass on the dyno tune and tune her from the laptop. No reason to fork out 2 hours of dyno time when I am going to boost her next year :bump:

I'll keep you guys posted

Thanks again for the props guys.

Hybrid Racing has everything working nicely now and it's on the way back to me. I will reinstall everything and have her towed for exhaust install. Once that is complete I will enjoy her for a few days and maybe get some vdieo footage and posted as well.

I also went through and resized the build pics for posting before she was completed. I will begin to post pictures later this evening to get you guys up to speed on what went down the week before the completion.

Thanks again for all the props :goodjob:

Trying to get it changed on IA as well  The 93 is long gone.....time to move on :ninja:

Session 047 Part 1:

K series shifter cable routing and mounting:

Start with removing "A" and "C" from the shifter cables and discard:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20035/IMG_5665_cropped_rs85.jpg

Remove bracket "B" to modify since this is the best bracket to use:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6447_rs35.jpg

Take the hammer and hit the bracket to flatten it out like so:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6449_rs35.jpg

I don't know what the bolt is for. It's a 10mm bolt that was holding nothing in place. Maybe before I took the car apart it had a purpose. But, it's in the perfect spot:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6451_rs25.jpg

Nice clearance:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6450_rs35.jpg

Closer look at the cable routing at the crossmember:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6453_rs35.jpg

Another clearance shot. I don't have a pic with the header installed, but the clearance is really good on my SSR header

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6454_rs35.jpg

Inside the bay:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6458_rs35.jpg

Closer look at the tranny connection (my father shortened the cotter pins for weight reduction :boobies: j/k....he said the length was not correct)

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6457_rs35.jpg

Hope that helps anyone with questions about routing and mounting K series shifter cables

Thanks for looking and more to come :bannana:

Session 047 Part 2 of 2:

Modifying the K20a2 engine harness:

There is a lot of clips to remove from the harness:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6396_rs27.jpg

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6397_rs35.jpg

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6436_rs35.jpg

If you unwrapped the engine harness you have this fuster_cluck:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6438_rs35.jpg

Pull the wires you just cut back through so you have length to work with:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6439_rs35.jpg

Oxygen Sensor wiring......

The 4 wires on the conversion harness:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6440_rs35.jpg

Strip the plastic to expose some wire:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6441_rs35.jpg

I don't have the opposite plug to mate with the O2 so I cut the harness off the new sensor. I screwed up by cutting all the four wires even. It's been said the 2 black wires are both grounds so not a big deal to get them mixed up. But, if you have to cut the wires......cut them at different lengths :2cents:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6442_rs35.jpg

Hybrid Racing Harness --------- Primary Oxygen Sensor
Green ------------------------- White
Red --------------------------- Light Green or Blue if you have the Denso sensor
White ------------------------- Black
Black -------------------------- Black

Cosmetic caps that really make a difference:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6446_rs35.jpg

Put them just about everywhere including the studs of the roll bar:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6445_rs35.jpg

Everything was torqued down and torque stripe added for easy visual check ups:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6459_rs35.jpg

Clutch line install. Not sure if the teflon tape was needed or not

Yes, that will save you headaches down the road

Thanks for all the props once again

Well, I think the headache is finally over. While down in Savannah (yesterday / 1 day) I stopped by a muffler shop who had just what I needed :goodjob:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Exhaust/IMG_6267_rs35.jpg

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Exhaust/IMG_6268_rs35.jpg

Plenty of clearance for the 3" piping:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Exhaust/IMG_6269_rs35.jpg

I'm going to clean her up nicely:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Exhaust/IMG_6271_rs35.jpg

Shop also gave me the donut gasket. It's not quite wide enough to fit over the DTR flange. I'm going to see if Summit has one that will clear the flange. If not, I'll dremel this one out to make it work:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Exhaust/IMG_6274_rs35.jpg

Without the donut gasket:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Exhaust/IMG_6275_rs35.jpg

Ahhhhhhh, that looks nice:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Exhaust/IMG_6272_rs35.jpg

Hand tightened, YES!!! The 2 spring bolts I have on hand will work :bump:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Exhaust/IMG_6276_rs35.jpg

Got to get new nuts though:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Exhaust/IMG_6277_rs35.jpg

This is with the flange pushed all the way to bottom. Once centered the gap is gone:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Exhaust/IMG_6278_rs35.jpg

These are the springs / bolts I used. Not sure if they are from a D or B series. But, they should do the job:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Exhaust/IMG_6279_rs35.jpg

Now I've got to find a day when I can get this installed, then stop for an alignment, emissions...... then I'll be ready to take on the S/C TSX

Thanks for looking & up we go :police:

Must be the Nashville meet? Too bad I have to work :(

Thanks for the props!!

So, yesterday I took her up to get an alignment and on the way up I see this nice blue Mustang. He eventually notices me behind him and down shifts (smoke came from the exhaust as he switched to the far left lane taking off). I also down shifted and just rode his a$$ because there were cars in the other 2 lanes. I couldn't even give it 100% or I would of smacked his rearend. He eventually saw he couldn't leave me and pulled back to the middle lane. I then cruised by as he had a :) on his face. My :) was X10 bigger. Unfortunately I had to get off the exit for the alignment so never got to get side by side. Here is the one pic I snapped of the GT:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/95%20Vx/11-15-2007%20Aligntment%20-%20Mugen%20Si%20-%20GT500/Nov152007_rs50.jpg

Then I made it to the alignment shop and snapped a few pics:

Trying to get it changed on IA as well  The 93 is long gone.....time to move on :ninja:

Session 047 Part 1:

K series shifter cable routing and mounting:

Start with removing "A" and "C" from the shifter cables and discard:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20035/IMG_5665_cropped_rs85.jpg

Remove bracket "B" to modify since this is the best bracket to use:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6447_rs35.jpg

Take the hammer and hit the bracket to flatten it out like so:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6449_rs35.jpg

I don't know what the bolt is for. It's a 10mm bolt that was holding nothing in place. Maybe before I took the car apart it had a purpose. But, it's in the perfect spot:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6451_rs25.jpg

Nice clearance:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6450_rs35.jpg

Closer look at the cable routing at the crossmember:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6453_rs35.jpg

Another clearance shot. I don't have a pic with the header installed, but the clearance is really good on my SSR header

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6454_rs35.jpg

Inside the bay:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6458_rs35.jpg

Closer look at the tranny connection (my father shortened the cotter pins for weight reduction :boobies: j/k....he said the length was not correct)

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20047/IMG_6457_rs35.jpg

Hope that helps anyone with questions about routing and mounting K series shifter cables

I want to say once again thanks for the kind words in this thread!!

With that being said, I came up with an idea to try and get some footage up for you guys. Hell, I want to see her on the web :bump: I don't know why it's taken me a damn month to think of this, but it worked. Basically I played the video on my tv through the camcorder and recorder the footage using my digital camera on the tripod. Not the best quality, but it definitely looks better than many many night races I've seen on youtube. So, it's uploading as I type this and I'll be posting the link as soon as youtube has it ready

Looking forward to your comments and feedback on how to make the next couple of vids even better. This is my first ever video edit so go easy  Also, when the hatch is back up in February all footage will be filmed with a HD camera. So, the quality and hopefully the editing will get better as time goes on. Thanks again to you all for making this project as fun as it could of been. It's far from over though. She's tore apart right now and I'll be posting those pics in the near future. Not to forget either some internals or boost in 2008 :ninja:

Thanks man. Warm weather is about here and she is about to be back up and running. Plan to have many more (better quality this time arouns) vids for you guys :goodjob:

so, are you boosted yet? is that why its in the shop? if sooo, i hate you.. lol.

Not yet. May not happen until end of this year or next year now. Unfortunately I have other things in life I have to take care of that require $$$$ on a monthly basis :blah: But, if I sell my house it could happen in the Summer :lmfao:

man.. just watched the vids. you be racing the sht out of that eg! lol.

Hahahaha...... yeah, I spend about 80% of the time driving her in vtec :screwy:

Thanks guys for the props and posts

Ok, so I've held out for a while and need to give you guys a heads up on what's been going on.

The car has been down for 3 months now and I haven't really done much :(

Removed wiring not needed, wire tuck, relocate of some things, HIDs, new fuel rail.... yada yada yada.... which will all be completed by 2 weeks.

I decided on the spot for the ECU:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/ECU%20relocate/02-12-2008012_rs40_cr.jpg

The brackets that will hold the ECU to the firewall:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/ECU%20relocate/02-12-2008002_rs44_cr.jpg

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/ECU%20relocate/02-12-2008001_rs44_cr.jpg

I will line the ECU and/or brackets with either dynomat or some Lowe's carpet sample  to dampen the vibration / keep the ECU in place.....

BTW > That is when the brackets were bent to fit. I did make even them out, rounded all the edges, and painted them flat black. I also fabbed a little "U" bracket that sits where the stock cabin harness runs to hold the cabin harness in place

I still have pics from before the show to post. Not many, but I will be posting them next....

Stay tuned for more to come.....

She'll be at the ATL dragway for the Nopi race / show at the end of March  Hope to see you guys there as well :goodjob:

Yeah, I'll just have to get down under the dash to get the ECU. No biggie. I will also have to get underneath to the ECU to plug in the cable to datalog.

It appears that ECU is mounted right in the bend of the passengers floorboard. Also right on top of the floor mat. I am confused why someone would want the ECU in the center of the floorboard for dirt and feet to hit :???:

Maybe it's for bragging rights as the ECU even has the "HONDATA" sticker on it.

I'd prefer to keep things hidden and let the car moving do the talking or bragging

To each his own though and thanks to whoever mentioned the weather stripping to line the brackets. It's going to that or dynomat

More to come.....

Well, unfortunately the car is not registered to run :gay: Yeah, I am anxious to see how she does in the 1/4 but just not the right time yet. I still need to find a good launch, wider tires, possibly traction bars, and a spare set of axles for the in case $hit happens :ninja: But, she will be sitting pretty for the show :boobies: Hope to ride in with a lot of my IA buddies

**CAT PIC**

Are you calling my thread a "pu$$y" Anyhow, I really like cats so no offense taken here :bump:

I don't know what the hell you are talking about with the 240, lol. But, glad I am inspiring you  If I can do it, so can you :goodjob:

I can't remember if I am to use an o-ring with this plug or not :???:

A long, long time ago I installed this plug because I was installing a 2 way aftermarket fuel rail. Well, with the swap complete, the fuel rail would not stop leaking so I reinstalled the OEM rail and removed the plug for the fuel line to enter the FPR.

So, I am trying to figure out if I have to use an o-ring for the install on the Aeromotive FPR. I believe it's not needed 1) it's not on the fitting 2) I believe the guy at Summit (where I purchased the plug) stated because it's tapered, an o-ring is not needed.

Here is the fitting:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Fuel%20setup/03-07-08039rs_rs35_cr.jpg

Here is a pic of the fuel rail reducers:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Fuel%20setup/03-07-08037_rs35_cr.jpg

Another reason I am thinking an o-ring is a great idea

Well, I saw a pic (wasn't the best quality) and they looked pretty bright. When the owner of the bulbs told me they are so bright that you will see the bumper outline (shadow) on the ground.... I figured these must be very close to the Lexus tag lights. The Lexus uses a different bulb style. I'll keep you guys posted with a review and nice pics

Well, I am looking at the pics for the last 3 sessions (Nopi 2007) and there are not as many pics as I thought there would be. Sorry, I said HUGE because this one will only be a couple handfuls.

I'm going to upload them now and have them posted in a few minutes. Just wanted to give you guys a heads up because I called for a HUGE update. But, after the Nopi build up there are a lot more I will be posting :boobies:

Session 054 - September 13, 2007

$hitiest day for the build. Rainy and this is the day I sat on the phone for hours with Will of Hybrid Racing trouble shooting the conversion harness. Awesome service from HR :goodjob: ...and found out the problem was the relay was popped due to solder on a couple wires causing a short :gay: That day I actually gave up on the swap and my father and brother had to talk me back into working on the car again.

Not many pics because it was just one $hity day!!

BEFORE the problems arrived:

Have not dyno'd or timed the car yet. Typically these cars run mid to low 12's in the 1/4. Not to shabby for a 4 banger with bolt-ons.
