The outcome is not up to par with SneezinCD5 so the bay will be sanded down and repainted in a paint booth. The dust and overspray was terrible. The initial plan was to paint the entire car in the garage, but not going to happen now. The average Joe would most likely be happy with the garage job, but too much work is going into this to settle for anything less than a clost to perfect paint job.

If the garage door was lowered to the height of a 2' box fan, and you had 2-3 of them, and sealed the gaps between them, there would be a ton less trash in the paint. :/

Great color and great build. Has me wanting to start a full-stripped project.

....and the overspray would of been 10X worst. The trash is not that bad, it's the overspray that killed it. He just painted his hatch earlier in the week using the garage method. Had to open the door because the overspray was so bad that you couldn't even see the other side of the garage. After spraying for about 20 seconds the entire driveway was a big cloud of mist.

HELP > Need to rent a paintbooth for 1 day here in the ATL area (preferbly I-75 south of 285)

Thanks again for the props :bump: No work done lately. I did pick up front GSR brakes so I can now order the 36mm Circuitworx hub adapters :bannana: Tried ordering them today, but kept getting a voice mail. I will try again Monday or Tuesday. Other than that, my seats are set to arrive Monday. Also recieved my 4pt AutoPower roll bar today :goodjob:

Hard to believe this paint job is not good enough, huh?

GSR front brakes up top Civic to the left:

I probably should of went with a custom cage with the amount of money and time being put into this build. But, the AutoPower bar has been proven to work and I don't plan to put the car on the roof.

The arrival:

I thought it was nicely packed in the cardboard box:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20032/Session%20032A/IMG_5478_rs35.jpg

At least it's not painted. Has a few small nicks which some sanding will take care of. We'll be laying gold paint down on the bar which should go nice with the MG

Yea i know the white ek with carbon fiber wing. My next door neighbor. Do you always see both of them at night.

Yes. Usually parked right next to each other. The red one is on red GT3's. Both are very nice looking. There is also a white EG in the lot now w/ black or c/f hood and exhaust on dark wheels

Do you work for Delta?

No I don't.

So, the front and rear brakes are going in for some work this week. Extended studs for the rear and new RTA bushings. The front will be getting the new hubs installed w/ new bearings. Then I will be putting the suspension back on so I can tow her down to central Florida for body work and paint. Got to drill the holes for the rollbar and seat harnesses as well. Hope to have her back here by the middle of August. That gives me a month to get the car back together

Going to be ordering some more parts this week. I'll post pics as they arrive.

Thanks again to all for the props. I promise to go all out with detail once the K swap work starts :camera:

Wow, you guys are awesome with the feedback. Makes me want to put even more work and effort into her :goodjob:

So, I'm past due for some updates with the project. I'm putting the front and rear end back on so she can roll out to paint in Central Florida this weekend. My bro and his buddy are saying 3 weeks and she'll be back in my hands. That will give me approximately 3 weeks to drop the motor, wire her up, install interior, and have her tuned...... Going to be on a tight schedule but I plan to have her parked in the Brown section at the Nopi Nationals  :goodjob: :welcome:

I present Session 033:

Picked up some new rear camber bolts. I still need to get some washers to shorten her up. Probably throw one washer (approx. 1/2 degree) underneath for some camber correction.

Session 036:

Picked up some washers to shim out the rear camber and also shorten the new bolts:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20036/IMG_5685_rs32.jpg

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20036/IMG_5686.jpg

1 for camber correction and 3 to shim the bolt head:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20036/IMG_5687_rs32.jpg

What is the proper way to press those 2 parts back together? Yeah, new tie rod ends / castle nuts / cotter pins are going on. The knuckle ball joints are fine and will be getting new castle nuts / cotter pins:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20036/IMG_5693_rs35.jpg

Some OEM parts I scooped the other day:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20036/IMG_5682_rs32.jpg

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20036/IMG_5689_rs32.jpg

$50 bull$hit kit I picked up from Home Depot returning tomorrow. Doesn't even have size M10 :2up: :gay: :umno:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20036/IMG_5702_rs32.jpg

For drilling the roll bar:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20036/IMG_5703_rs32.jpg

Put the HASport mount in place. Threaded the bolts underneath to make it easier centering the mount:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20036/IMG_5697_rs25.jpg

Got verification from a K20a member that this looked right:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20036/IMG_5698_rs35.jpg

Marked where I needed to drill:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20036/IMG_5700_rs35.jpg

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20036/IMG_5701_rs35.jpg

After 3 step ups, 1/2" holes drilled. Double drilled hole on the right was throwing the bit off. Did my best and pretty happy with the outcome:

Thanks again for the props guys. You guys are putting me in a bind when you say, "I'm coming to Nopi just to see this car". Damn that is truely flattering and so I must get her running before 2nd week of Sept

Here's some pics from my bro. The car is down in Central Florida now and they wasted no time going to work on her:

That's my bro's friend Jose. Said to really know his $hit!! I was told he marked the low/high spots on the roof and the way the circle is going represents the way the spot moves. ....or some $hit like that

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Jasons%20pics/Session%20001/Jill538.jpg

A lot of black circles on her:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Jasons%20pics/Session%20001/Jill539.jpg

I've been told the doors are already blocked / completed. Jose is working on the rear hatch today which has the largest dent and also welding the key hole shut

I still have about 30 pics I will post either tonight or tomorrow from the day she left me :p

Thanks for the props and looking :bump:

LMAO.

You want update, well here you go :bump:

I present the final session before she left the LG:

Session 037:

My bro was on his way up from Central Florida and I still had some things to take care of. First thing I jumped into stripping the rear hatch:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20037/IMG_5712_rs35.jpg

Remove the 2 screws to remove the latch mechanism:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20037/IMG_5713_rs35.jpg

The mechanism:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20037/IMG_5716_rs35.jpg

Of course I had to strip one of the screws :2up: The damn thing would not come. Ended up tearing my skin at the finger with the grip of the screwdriver :(

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20037/IMG_5728_rs35.jpg

Drill it:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20037/IMG_5729_rs35.jpg

2 screws hold the open lever in place:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20037/IMG_5719_rs35.jpg

Key hole lock (being deleted):

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20037/IMG_5720_rs35.jpg

Remove the 10mm and out she comes:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20037/IMG_5724_rs35.jpg

That's all there is to the key lock:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20037/IMG_5725_rs35.jpg

Decal removal:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20037/IMG_5731_rs35.jpg

Emblem removal (thinking about deleting this as well):

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20037/IMG_5732_rs35.jpg

After you have worked the razor blade all around the emblem to break it free pry with a flattip screwdriver and use your finger to pull it free:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20037/IMG_5733_rs35.jpg

Removed and dirty:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20037/IMG_5735_rs35.jpg

Then I removed the EX lip from the bumper:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20037/IMG_5736_rs35.jpg

Ready to roll out:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20037/IMG_5737_rs35.jpg

Needed to remove the door light switch:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20037/IMG_5748_35.jpg

Remove the screw:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20037/IMG_5749_rs35.jpg

and out she comes:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20037/IMG_5750_rs35.jpg

Then I needed to remove the roof water rails.

I pushed it forward from the back:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20037/IMG_5752_rs35.jpg

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20037/IMG_5753_rs35.jpg

I believe the roll bar is the race version since the diagonal bar is welded in.

Thanks for all the props.

The plan was to paint the car tomorrow (Sat), but the new OEM hood and bumper will not be in until Wednesday. So, the paint will be laid down on the 18th (Sat). Puts me a week behind, but she'll be done before the show :goodjob:

Update!!!

Just got done with the exterior and almost done with the interior. Welded some holes that were for the rear seats and seat belts and filled in some other spots. Doors were done last week thanks to Jose taking them home. :goodjob: He's put as much effort into this car as all of us.

Finally 2K'd the car. Interior came out really smooth. No more scratches, looks brand new again. Next is to block it all down to get it ready for paint next Sat :)

Shot some SEM high build primer so we could wash everything down without getting the filler wet.

We were starting to wash the car down when this guy rolled up and wanted to check out my work. He lives down the street and wanted us to take a look at his car and see if we could reshoot it for him. (very clean for its age)

Actually my tub is what is dirty. I cleaned it a while back which took a ton of scrubbing. It's dirty again. I will clean it when the car is done

Session 038:

It was 100+ degrees outside so I did not last long out there

I believe I have everything for the shifter cables:

It was not fun getting the old K&N filter off. I ended up shoving a pry bar through the filter and twisting it off that way

Wiped it down before putting the new OEM filter on:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20038/IMG_5883_rs35.jpg

Lubed the seal with the oil I have used for years:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20038/IMG_5885_rs35.jpg

Then it was time to do some cleaning:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20038/IMG_5887_rs35.jpg

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20038/IMG_5888_rs35.jpg

For some reason the right side is a lot worst than the left side:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20038/IMG_5891_rs35.jpg

LMAO  Got to wait and see what is coming :boobies:

Here you go for now:

Electrical tape to rewrap the OEM wire harnesses:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Wire%20Tuck%20Hardware/IMG_5904_rs35.jpg

Hardware for the headlights and I believe should work for the fender bolts that are visible in the bay. I may end up upgrading to nicer / better stuff, but for now it will work:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Wire%20Tuck%20Hardware/IMG_5905_rs35.jpg

Closer look at the bolts:

Lock Washers:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Wire%20Tuck%20Hardware/IMG_5908_rs35.jpg

These clips should work nicely with the wire tuck and keeping everything nice and neat:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Wire%20Tuck%20Hardware/IMG_5910_rs35.jpg

The 2 clips (showing the 3 sides of each):

Modifying the fuel line to accept a -6 AN hose. Cheap mod for those who want to keep the OEM fuel rail

The line that needs to be removed for modification:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/039A%20Modifying%20Fuel%20Fitting/IMG_5806_rs35.jpg

First slit the rubber hose down the middle to remove like in the pic:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/039A%20Modifying%20Fuel%20Fitting/IMG_5923_rs35.jpg

Then using your new blade and being careful not to go completely through the fitting cut the plastic hose like so:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/039A%20Modifying%20Fuel%20Fitting/IMG_5925_rs35.jpg

You fitting is now seperated & ready to accept a -6 AN hose :goodjob:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/039A%20Modifying%20Fuel%20Fitting/IMG_5968_cr_rs45.jpg

SneezinCD5: I am very disappointed today. Even though I shot the interior, and the rest is ready to spray, my boss for some dickhead reason needed to leave at 1:00. So I was uable to shoot the rest. Don't worry though guys, I am going to have her done by tuesday so she can go back to her home.

I am shooting the engine bay, jams and inner parts(underhood, inside trunk and doors) monday and then I will install everything on the car and shoot the exterior tuesday.

Here are a couple pics I took while I was at work today. Everything is going very well with the paint so far. :goodjob:

WTB: B or D series wire harness!! read below.....

I am now realizing that I need a few harnesses off a B or D series motor wire harness. I need the following:

1) intake air sensor harness

2) ECT fan switch harness

3) Coolant sending unit harness

I DO NOT need the actual sensors since I have new ones from Honda. I just need the harness or plug with 3" of wiring at the ends to wire into my system.

I don't think I need any other wiring from the B or D series. I'll give you integra front seats and EG rear seats if you can help me out with this.
