i have a 90 integra that didnt pass emissions this morning. the NOx is 1540 and 1370 is allowed. it has to do with the exhaust gasses that all i know.
how can i get to it to pass the emissions? i was gonna use this as a excuse to get an exhaust and do a swap but i just dont have the money.
i also need this car to pass ASAP

register in hall county or find some one in your area that can be conviced to help you pass emissions

:lmfao: :lmao: i would still keep the car and just have to wait awhile to do the swap
actually i think i found out where the problem is, its in the egr system. i did some reading and found that the egr is to reduce the oxides of nitrogen emissions (NOx)
the catalyic converter is for the hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO) and oxides of nitrogen (NOx) gasses
most commonly for the NOx its the egr but the cat converter is a possibility

But one problem integras dont have a egr system! it did not fail that bad what has worked for me before I take the the test I would retard the timing a bit.

well my dad is the one that took it to emissions today again and the guy told him to look into the egr system so i looked in my factory service manual where i found that info
STEVEO: i tryed searching before i posted but it was just too much out there about emissions that didnt have to do with NOx, YOUR JUST MAD CAUSE YOU CANT HAVE MY CAR :D and your the one that talked me into keeping the car:taun:
EDIT: it turns out that only the automatics have the egr system. so the only other option is the cat. converter. at least i know what the problem is:goodjob::cheers:

make sure you do a complete tune-up this will help since your parts are brand new. but make sure you check your oxigen sensor, cuz if its bad this may cause ur ecu to fuck with the air-fule ratio and you will not get the best combustion and ur car will not pass emmissions even if everything ells in the car is brand new (spark plugs wires pcv egr basically all ur emmission shit) this is one of the thing a lot of people forget to check and if it is the problem it will pass emmissions no problem :goodjob:

i replaced the cat converter this weekend and it passed...well lets just say i put a cat in, it was just the housing with nothing on the inside. that just kinda causes the car to fail the emissions
thx for all your help guys
