View Full Version : Everybody please read and help me out!!!! Thanks
This is my problem, I just finished up my car project yesterday and there is no way it will pass emissions, "I'm in Cobb County so it's gotta have emissions in my county." What do yall do in this case when your cars wont pass either, please send me some info on any ideas or anything that yall have done, so I don't have to do emissions and make the car legal to drive.
PS: The car has never been registered in cobb, I bought it from a guy down south where they dont need emisssion, and the car sat in my garage for the past 2 months while I finished it. If you could please help a fellow IA member it would be really apreciated, thanks a bunch
Ps: "Actually let me know what your friends have done not you" :goodjob:

What yr is it?
It's a 92, so it's gotta get the sniffer in the exhaust

Not to be an ass, but that should have been part of your planning.....
You could get a test pipe with a cat in it, and put it on for emissions.

All you have to do is take a passable car with you, and $75. They will put your cars VIN in the system, pull the other car up and put the sniffer in that cars tail pipe, and voila.
96+ are harder to cheat. You'd have to have the same model car.
Oh believe me I took that into play just really didnt give a damn, cause I was doing the car the right way the first time the way I wanted it. Then worry bout this little problem when I was done. The car has full exhaust and a cat, but turbo'd emission would still be to high this that on the car

You wouldn't be boosting during an emissions test though? :???:
If you have to you can also go back to stock tuning, and not boost on the way there. Should be safe if your driving normal. Then you change it back after you get back home.
Could you registar the car in a non emissions county and get a PO BOX in that county? then just deal with a drive to that county once a yr for new tags, if this would work what is the closest no emission county from Cobb? thanks for the feed back

Man thats a good original thread you have me interested in what everybody says, just be carefull and find a younger guy at one of those emission stands and see if he would take of it for you, and as far as the PO BOX part not sure on that one because your driver's license is in Cobb and that might end up being a problem, but i'm not a 100% positive on that though. bump man a good luck and i'll ask a couple buddies of mine to see what they did. I am sure as shit somebody in this forum could take care of this for you, your in a car forum so there's gotta be people who how a hook up for you. I'll get back to you asap with some info bud.
thanks for all the feeback keep it coming

Turbo'ed cars, when tuned right often run lower emissions than an NA car. If you have a cat and full exhaust and are worried you will fail, then the car is not tuned right.
