So Vanguard Beta 5 was opened a few days ago... and the game itself willl go live by the end of the month. No matter how much I've told myself I'm too old and too busy to hardcore another MMORPG, I've somehow got sunk into Vanguard the moment Beta 5 was released and downloaded (16gigs).

The game mixes things from other MMORPG's and incorporates it into Vanguard. People who've played WoW or EQ1/EQ2 will be familiar with most of the game already. Grinding sucks but not nearly as bad as most Korean-style MMORPG's. PvP is actually entertaining as fights can be finished in just a few seconds making it easy to gank ppl. If anyone plans on playing once the game goes live, look for me on the FFA (free for all) PvP server.

Juggling school, work, and hardcore'n Vanguard won't be easy and won't give me much time to idle in parking lots every weekend night... so even more reason not to come out to car stuff much. By the way, when referring to the term "hardcore", a mild MMO hardcore schedule dedicates at least 60hrs a week to straight grinding... my EQ2 days consisted of literally average of 95hrs a week and my Lineage2 days (unemployed, summer) consisted of 125hrs a week.

So yeah Chris plays the beta sometimes, I like WOW so I might like this one if its kinda of like WOW..... It scares me tho cause it comes out right after we get back from the honeymoon....I guess I will have to spend as much time with him before then lol.

I was definatly looking forward to the game, but unfortunatly I was accepted into Beta 4 and ya... apparently either A.) my system is WAAAY too slow to play this game, or B.) It's a beta, so I expected it to play alot better, or maybe a combonation of both. I'm probably going to go back once i goes live, but ya... I put the beta away for good and I'm now concentrating on getting my WoW char ready for Burning Crusades heh (oh ya, and getting married and moving out... those are important too lol). but anyways, I was hoping VG was gonna be the second coming of EQ, but I'm not too sure yet, haven't totally lost hope, I just think I hyped myself up too much about it.

16 gigs!!!! Holy shit, why? I only have 80 on my laptop and I just used up about 20 with rFactor and various mods for it, not to mention my music collection and movies on here.

It's a huge game... not to mention a totally navigatable sea heh. No more "instant zoning" like in WoW, you actually gotta voyage through the sea and can control the ship.
