so who wants to fix my stereo??

i have a 96 t-bird i just got in a trade and it has a nice jvc head unit and a spl 800 watt amp and a pyramid 1600watt amp and to kicker comp subs in a kicker ported box. the subs are good and so is the amp but i cannot get any real sound to come out of the subs damn near nothing you can only feel it sometimes if you touch the speakers. i put in a diffrent sub and it does not work at all.the amp gets power and im not sure what i need to do to get it to work.the previous owner said it just stopped working so he put in the pyramid amp and nothing and that amp is new. any advice would be great i would be willing to bring it to a real shop to get the job done re wired new amp whatever.... let me know....

you checked the speaker terminals? One of my subs vibrated the wire from the speaker to the terminal loose after about a couple years of use. I thought the sub was blown and replaced it. same thing, no sound. Then I found the terminal problem, but only after I had trashed the 2.5 yr old original.

Pyramid amp....hmmmm. There is a bad signal somewhere. Maybe an RCA, maybe a even power , like blown fuse, that didnt completely break, and still trickles enough power to work, but not well. My guess honestly is the amp isnt good. New or not, you get what you pay for, and Pyramid isnt exactly high end....its flea market.
Try borrowing another car w/ working subs, disconnect thier sub box, wire yours in. This will tell you amp or subs.

check your RCA connects at both the headunit and the amp...also make sure positve is to positive and neg is to neg...that can cause some problems...if not...i unno

i know pyramid is low quality the spl amp is decent. i check the connections in the box and the back of the cd player. i will check for a half broken fuse now and try another set of rca's

spunk did the trick, hahaha.it was the amp wire on the battery it was loose but tight enough to give the amp power but would cut out with any voulme.so now its bumpin!!!!!!!!!

I was close, typically a signal is on or off, but power feed/ground is a biggie. Nice find and fix!
