Well, it depends on how you look at it. In a speed contest, your '02 might have more cajones [pre-swap, that is]. But I will stand by the ae86 on modification and on the sheer fun they are to drive. I 2nd the notion on ditching the '02 for the '83-'87 banger:::

Okay, no pics right now. But here's the update:

    Things accomplished today:

    Alignment done by GTE

-3 camber in the front FTW!!
    0 in the rear

15" SSR MK1s [pair] mounted and balanced
I need shank-style lug nuts to run these tomorrow. If not, I 'll just use my 14" enkeis. I'm told, I can get these at Summit. Anyone know any other places?

Thanks to Tiger Racing [met a ton of coo people], installed:
    -Tanabe rear sway bar
    -NGK ignition wires
    -NGK spark plugs
    -new rotor and cap
    Car runs like top:::

Car's sliding ability tested by Sammy

If you're going to All You Can Drift Buffet tomorrow, I'll see you there.

Hey man, I just caught up on your thread and I love what I see. It seems that you take your time and do things right. I also see you have good taste in cars. When I see a good copy of a car it pulls me in and I want an AE86 more than anything right now. I took a glance in you Flickr an noticed some awesome photography. I admire what you do man. If you give me the opportunity, I'd like to meet you in person tomorrow at the drift buffet.

I wish I had taken more pics, man. There was so much to shoot. That would've been the only thing I would have done, if I weren't driving.

I price things out everyday...what I'm going to buy next. I wish it weren't so expensive. With my EG/EH hatch, I just had it painted and threw on a lip and duckbill--done. ae86s have so many options. I love it.

Here's a good example... I was watching this lip on eBay... 255.00!! for a freakin' lip! I'm just gonna go and get a full front bumper.

It's not too bad of a drive. After the event, I took a 45min. nap at a rest area and drove back home. You should come to the next event.

I went to Summit, yesterday, hoping to get some shank-style lug nuts for the MKIs. I drove an hour and half (due to traffic) for disappointment. And yeah, I did check for the lug nuts online before deciding to make the trip. They were only listed in bulk. Plus, I didn't know what length shank I needed. Well, I guess the trip wasn't a total loss. of the new eyes.

And this came in today :

    ...for the '76.

I, finally, found some shank-style lug nuts for the SSR MKIs [pair]. So, I mounted them up. I know I need to replace/clean up the nuts.
I need to find out whether I can replace them with Home Depot ones.

Unwashed and unpolished. These are 15x8. Offset is about +5-7. I'm still going to get the fenders rolled, but no rubbing issues so far. Tires are Kumho 195/50/15.

Hopefully, I can find a pair for the front. I thought about running some Centerlines all around 'cause they're easier to source.

Update on the TE31...It's, currently, my daily driver...

--red coupe is being stored. I want to order a clutch replacement and get a better LSD.

--got a chance to wash the car in the after pics:

    Unwashed:

They still work fine, but are covered in a bit of surface rust.

Shiny new lugs I had left over to put on the TE31...

Interior shot...Dirty Octopus stopped by the other day and saw this...

I swapped the enkeis to the front and the SSRs to the rear.

I had to remove the fender to mount and connect the headlight bulb. I'm gonna bang out the fender, so I can put it back on until I find a replacement. The turn signals still don't blink. I'm going to check all the bulbs and fuses to see if there is a bad termination [correct term?].

Oh, I also, replaced the gas cap. The old one's rubber seal was dry-rotted and I noticed loss of fuel pressure.
