Ok so my car is a 13 second car now........

Went back to the track yesterday for Import Faceoff and got some better times. Before my best was a 14.2@99mph 2.2 60ft.


Today was 13.4@104 2.1 60Ft. Pretty much seems like i dropped almost 8 tenths of a second just due to being able to rev higher. 60fts were almost identical. With the valvetrain i can finish the 1/4 in 3rd gear so i eliminate the 3rd to 4th shift and that really made a difference.

I was running 24.5 slicks and it was just too much. I launched at 8000, 7000, 5500 it didnt matter, it would dead hook and my car would fall on its face in 1st gear. I just dont make enough power to use slicks that big so ill have to go down to some 22s.

All in all i was happy, my trap was as high as 106mph, so i think im in the 12s territory with proper tires, chassis setup.

There was nothing we could have done besides pump the tires up more. Ironically the best time i ran all day was when i had 11psi in the tires. ( i wanted to make a full pass make sure the car was running ok).

After that i dropped it down to 5psi and i could never get it to spin out of the hole, i should have pumped them back up or not done a burn out.

After you got going the car definintely picked up, I'd like to see it when it's a little more dialed in. I couldn't get traction with my street tires at all, didn't help it was my first time at the track. Haha

back when i used to race i learned that the perfect launch was when u get that slip and grip feeling from the tires. spoolin should b in the 9's and charles is a scca racer and rock climber. lmao!

You should be able to go back on a friday night with the same setup and they will spin. They dont prep like that for friday night stuff.

I had that discussion with the track manager on another forum about that. He wanted to insist that they prep the same for every track event - including Friday TnT. But then he wanted to say that Saturday hooks better in the next sentence. If you are the first car to make a pass on each day, the track should be pretty close to the same. It isn't even close. Fridays are like driving on ice compared to any real event that they run.

IMHO think with 22's Mike would be at the 13/12 border if not better. PS: Mike, no more sentra for me, I had enough so Im parting it out. Im putting the motor in a car I hid in the woods years back. Im tired of going through 3 transmissions in 15k so now its going into a lighter rwd chassis. Though it will take close to a year, so if you dont go with the other monster motor by then, then we will link up once again for some runs.

15k in a Sentra. I think they may be worse than 60k in Btstone's S2K.

It is defnitely in 12's territory. I ran a 13.5 on 20" slicks shifting to 5th with my GF in the car. on a 2.0 60ft. I see 12.7's 12.8's for you.
