An '02+ Z06 and an '01+ 911 turbo will run neck and neck, stock for stock. Once you start modding, things begin to differ as do all cars.
I will agree with you on the modding the cars they differ. But a turbo car will respnd better than a N/A car will anyday to mods. The Z06 is a great running car and the only way to determine it is to line them up and run them to see.

They both respond very well to mods, just different mods, that's all. It really depends on how much restriction there is from the factory. It could be heads, or cams, or intake, or exhaust, etc. A first gen Viper RT/10 will respond MUCH better to an exhaust switch than my car. They have extremely restrictive systems from the factory; much more than mine.
