Man, its one thing after another with this damn build. I realized that I dont have the "timing belt guide" . its this little disk that slides on behind the crank pulley and keeps the timing belt in place. Its only like 6 bucks from toyota, but they cant get it to me till next week and I will be back in school. I needed to get this damn thing in by saturday.

Does anybody have a special tool to hold the crank pulley in place to get the bolt out? I went over to marks today to steal the timing belt guide from his motor and couldnt get the pulley off. I got mine off using this special tool that my old neighbor welded up for me, but it wouldnt work on marks because the holes in the pulley are apparently in different places on the gen2 and gen3.

anyway, here is the motor as of right now. Its so close....

I polished the valve cover, the top of my intake manifold, and intercooler hot pipe. they got kinda dirty when i was putting it all together, but I'll just hit it with more polish after I get it installed. Got the exhaust manifold and turbo ceramic coated...

I finally got the oil cooler dilemma solved. Thanks to mark donating me a gen2 oil cooler. The earls filter block off looks pretty nice in there. I got the turbo installed. Just wanted to post some progress. I know Ive said this a hundred times by now, but it should be real soon

About 10 o'clock tonight, I got to fire her up for the first time. The throttle cable was stuck at about half throttle so when I cranked it, it scared the living **** out of me. I was trying to shut it off and my damn turbo timer was counting down and I couldnt get to the damn button. I didnt know what was going on at first and thought my engine was about to explode or something....I was definitely expecting to see at least something on fire. After I fixed the throttle cable problem, I cranked her up again and it idled perfectly. It sounds really mean too. Other than the throttle cable mishap, I got it on the first try I guess i should have got it right on the first try since it took me for ****in ever but anyway, tomorrow morning I need to change the oil and filter and then I get to go break this motor in. Im pretty nervous though, if there are no problems I'll swing by gwinette on my way back to athens.

well, I still havent really gotten to drive it yet. I drove it around for about 5 minutes and the oil pressure light came on. I havent really messed with it yet, but I am at home for the rest of the week on spring break so hopefujlly I'll get it figured out.

If anybody has an oil pressure gauge I could borrow to figure out whats goin on that would be awesome. I'll be messing with it for the rest of the week if anyone wants to come help get this thing back on the road. Its so close...

I got a cheap faze oil pressure gauge at autozone to hold me over until I can get a nice matching apexi one. Hopefully I will find out that my stock sensor is just acting up and its nothing more serious. I'll keep you guys posted..... I cant wait till I can finally drive this thing up to the G-Net and show it off. You guys are gonna be proud

Well, I finally got the oil pressure gauge hooked up and went for a drive around the neighborhood...... Turns out the hood pins werent latched and my damn hood flew up and shattered my brand new windshield and cracked my hood. I think I am about to push this thing off of a cliff. I am so ****ing sick of this damn car
