Default lol at Scion time attack aero.

Reminds me of the 1969 F1 cars.

notice how tall they used to be and how they were bolted up to the suspension.

btw....this is Montjuich Park in Spain. Voted one of the ten greatest ever F1 circuits.

Chris Rado never ceases to amaze me with his shenanigans. He's a pretty innovative guy... but Jesus -- This has got to be a joke.

Com'n now...no need to hate on Scions.

Besides, everyone make and model has put out some questionable shit.

Granted this isn't exactly a high point...but it worked!

Yeah really, it's 2009, there is a FAR better looking method of making front end downforce.

    FAIL LMFAO.

(And yes Scion fanboys I know he won in class, but still...lololol)

I don't think people are getting the point of the thread. I'm not laughing at Scion for ugly sake.

The point is if something didn't work 40 years ago, then it doesn't work today either. I bet SuperGT cars make better downforce from what appear to stockish front ends.

To add, Group C prototypes used to develop 7000+ lbs of downforce from their wedge like front ends. (and underbodies)

I don't think it would, if it's too low then I guess looking ahead won't be an issue.

Adding that wing shaved 5 seconds off their lap time. So obviously it does work. Not saying that there aren't alternatives, but numbers don't lie.

It might be ugly, but it must be helpful. That car set a new FWD lap record for the track.

Ferrari never added anything to the Countach because they didn't build it. That's Lamborghini's car.

When has Lamborghini ever made a car that worked aerodynamically before they turned into Audi?

The Muira was effectively an airplane wing at speed.

Haha yea...the Miura was technically one of the fastest cars of its day, but it could never reach its top speed because the nose would start to lift.

You should see those at the next big auto show. I think I saw a test mule the other day.

Kinda hard to manipulate the front end of a Scion. I think it looks nifty and have no problem with something helps out...even just a teeny bit.

But I agree, many other ways to get more downforce.

Seriously, a splitter alone will add more downforce than what is needed for that car and suspension. Shaved 5 seconds off the lap time? How does the 2nd place car compare to it's times and what is it?
