Default WTB or RENT a small motorcycle

I really want to buy a bike, but I've never ridden one before. So does anyone have a small bike, like 300cc or smaller, that you might be willing to sell for around $1000 or rent out for like $250 for a month? I want to buy a bike around Christmas but I don't want to start out too big and not know how to ride. Lemme know what you have
