what hunting to you plan on doing?
handguns arent really used for hunting, but id your wanting to get into deer hunting, look for a 30-06. infact i have one but its already sold, just waiting on the buyer to have enough time to pick it up from me.
if you want to do some bird hunting get a 12 gauge, hell even a mossberg (cheap) will do the job well.

be more specific about what your wanting to hunt, i have differnt rifles.

thats what wild boars are mainly hunted with, there light and pretty effective, i have seen a .50 CAL handgun by smith and wesson that had a SICK scope in it...needless to say i dont think the owner had ever used it.

to be honest man, just go to a pawnshop and look at 12 guage's. start small, then work your way into brownings and ****. if you can get your hands on a good browning over and under, with good chokes already on it for bird then get it.

you ever find a gun? i have a 28 gauge Remington 870 express, it's a pump action, got it for x-mas when i was 12 and began shooting competitively with it right away, good gun believe it is full choke, been quail hunting sevral times with it, good starter gun.

if you are just starting and hunting game birds (quail, pheasant,...) get a 4-10 shotgun with birdshot you will be good to go
