    Default 1997 gti vr6 problems i need help, i dont know about cars HELP!!!

    when i push the gas and release the clutch, the car moves slow and the rpm moves pretty high, my clutch is up pretty high up for it to move, i can have the car in 1st gear with the clutch let go and its moving super slow its suppose to turn off isnt it? i barely bought this car so im very clueless....do i need a new clutch???? my friends tell me thats the problem bt they arent very reliable

    lol in any manual car, you let the clutch go slowly, not all the way, it'll move slowly

    slipping clutch and high pedal usually mean time for a new clutch.

    however, you are pretty vague with your description of the problem. can you elaborate?
    You're right - I have no idea what I'm talking about...

    if that is what is happening, then it is new clutch time...

    might as well do the timing chains and guides on the engine while the trans is off... only way to do them is remove the trans, and they usually get sloppy after 100k miles...

    Nice to see a person admit they dont know anything. Keep it up and you will learn quickly unlike those who think they know something because they read something in a magazine or forum. Cynical seems to be reputable so far.
