Its fairly easy to "manhandle" a bike in a curve, especially with a car like that. Typically cars can hold more speed through corners due to them having WAY more traction available.

    ARE YOU GUYS SERIOUS!!!

I cant see ANYONE remotely bash this video. That was one of the most beautiful displays of speed I've seen in a long time. Thats the kinda stuff you wanna show at a dealership to boost sales!

I'm serious, something like this makes me want a C5 or C6 (if I could afford one... hmm probably can).

The sheer SPEED these guys were going. They averaged about 85MPH on most of those turns, in excess of 130mph before letting off. And braking from that to enter turns, then throttling it at the APEX! That corvette AND BIKER were seriously balls to the wall on this one. I'm saving this link. seriously dude. +1, thanks.

Oh and you guys speaking so lightly on how "easy" it is to drive like that? I'd like to meet you in the next mountain run. . Tim already knows what I can do in my car so let me see how you guys finess it.

More skills than you can handle... mountain wa subarashii desu ne... honto.

Don't have my vette anymore, but be glad to carve up some roads on the gsxr.

Edit: mountains and track are two different scenerios, the speeds in that vid would not be the hard to pull of on the track after a little seat time.

Wow the sheer ignorance in this thread is overwhelming, but this is IA..every kid in his lowered civic is a touge master lol. 68mph...are you blind? maybe when they were breaking at that stop sign...they were hitting well over 90-110 in most of the corners...they never dropped below 80. Also remember the Vette was going much faster than the bike in many parts. GTFOher Wit dat BS!

That vid looks sped up actualy. The lean angles of the bike don't look that great compared to how fast it looks like they are going. And yes I have an idea of what i'm talking about because not only am i a lowered civic touge master (EG ls swap, drove with Tim last weekend) but i have also raced wera. That means not track days, but actual green flag competition- whole different thing

the vid is in no way sped up...get real. Look at the damn speedo for christ sake. I could care less what kinda civic you drive, or where you drive it lol. Ive run everything from local mountain runs to local SoloI/II to HPDE's, to SCCA ITA Events too.

Its all good Sport20. Its beating your head against a brick wall. And about mountain runs, I would easily say that a mountain run is much much more hazardous than a track run. In a mountain run you have VERY little room for error, uncontrolled environment and unseen road hazards, and unlike a track, you dont remember how to take the next turn as you would through repitition of any given track. Sorry to say this but although both are extremely difficult, the mountain runs are more challenging if both scenarios are driven at the peak of your vehicle.

I would say it takes much more balls to run like that on a mountain run than on a track.

Oh and by the way all you FWD guys (including me). RWD is a WHOLE other animal. Try it sometime...

    Thumbs up

somehow videos always end up making things appear slow lol. Mountain runs take a certain amount of balls and/or the hormones and adrenaline of a teenager, I used to do those fast drives but have since calmmed down a bit, guess I'm getting old. Those blind corners and decreasing radius corners are can really screw you over.
Please tell me if you think my car looks good. But don't tell me if you think it's ugly - only on IA

I know what you mean. they are 2 different elements though. I wouldnt say one is more challenging then the next, but there is definitly less risk on a sanctioned road course. As for mountain driving, im actually in the hopes of starting next years SCCA hillclimb series when my new motor is in place, or possibly Co-drive (90 mustang...also an American Iron series car). My boss races every year and it looks amazingly fun and challenging. Its also a way for you guys to drive a tight mt road with less risk to other motorists.
also FWD can be Very fast, just more often then not RWD has the advantage. Also if you think an FR car is a step up from FWD, try a Mid engine car! The limits are beyond that of a FR car, but take more skill to attain and there is a much smaller window for error....driving MR/RR cars to their limits is a thing of beauty

Dude, you're not the only person thats ever been on a track. You're 22 and you think you know all because you've been on a track? I've got 12 years of track time with cars and bikes. But yeah, this is IA and every kid who has a few hours track time thinks they know it all.

And cornercarver is inline with one of the things I was looking at, the angles of the bike. I have to agree that something doesn't look right.

hahaha get over yourself, i never said i knew all, and the only reason i even brought up track time was because cornercarver tryed to impress me with his Wera experiance. :jerkoffsmilie:..LOL@a few hours shot at me and you being all butthurt...I posted a sweet video, and a couple Attention whores tryed to boost their E-go's by saying they could have done better, and how it wasnt that impressive. All i did was bring them outta the clouds homeboi!

Wow well when you find out exactly what it is that you think is wrong with the video lemme know....ill be back here, in reality, throwing back a cold one

look at how the car and the camera bike bounce around, that's not a nice smooth road they are traveling down at those speeds. as for the lean angle, those were pretty big sweepers so it's not like the guy was going to be dragging knees through them. if he was hanging off the bike pretty hard it would also appear to have a lower lean angle. i don't think there's a chance the vid is sped up, the speed is clearly displayed on the speedo.

and listen to that vette, you can hear it over the bike even at pretty good distances. if it's that opened up it's not just a loud exhaust generally speaking, it's got some bite to match that bark.
