Below is a pic of the entrance of this tunnel. The tunnel is very narrow-laned and there is a lot of ice build up on the roads under there. Also, what you don't see is the sharp curve behind the camera. These cars travel at a pretty high rate of speed and coming around that corner, on ice, on a narrow road is a recipe for disaster.
