they could just sell the cars in auctions and put the money made from that to good use, but hey that would be just stupid right. i can agree with the whole idea of trying real hard to put street racing to an end, since most ricers end up killing innocent people and not themselves

Ummm, if you read the article associated with this vid, the guys were not street racing for the most part. I believe one guy was, but the other 5-6 were pulled over for moving violations or broken tailights, etc.
Their cars were seized and destroyed because they had stolen parts (engines, trannies) or missing VIN numbers. Car was was considered evidence until the trial, then was destroyed (as is standard procedure a lot of times). They cant sell stolen goods at an auction.
Right now they are filiming it...but I can guess that in the future, when no one is watching, the junk yard will have many a 'swap meet' with parts taken off the cars before crushing.....
I wonder if those who have had their cars crushed can claim insurance for vandalism or something? LOL

From what I heard a while back about this is if you are paying on the car you still have to pay the bank the money for the car. Insurance does not cover that, so you end up paying for a car you no longer have.Originally Posted by ISAtlanta300
