By research and keeping track of going rates on the 3rd gens. I also used KBB. Crazy enough, I have seen worse off FD currently for sale, and they want over $1000 more!!!Originally Posted by premier/lizard

Bumpf or a fellow 3rd gen rotorhead, clean car man, I like the looks of clean body lines and jet black wet looking paint. Frankly thats one hell of a deal for that car, I should know, I own 7 3rd gen rx7's and building several to sell.....NOT HI_JACKING THREAD... just a neighborly bump for a clean and i mean clean car... Some one will pony up for it. Let me get a few sold and I will buy it for asking price, low mileage too. Good luck with the sale man. God Bless

Damn, well if I were to sell my car and you still have this I will probably pick it up. These cars are so bad ass.
UPDATED NEWS, AND A NEW PRICE!!
The RX-7's RADIATOR CRACKED and THE CAR OVERHEATED..... THE ENGINE BLEW A COOLANT SEAL.
The engine NEEDS TO BE REBUILT or REPLACED.
HERE IS THE DEAL.......
I can sell the car for $10,000 FIRM and write a signed labor quote for PULLING, REBUILDING, AND INSTALLING THE ENGINE for $1400.00 LABOR ONLY.
Parts to rebuild the engine will range between $1600-$2000. Therefore you can have the car WITH a REBUILT ENGINE for only $13,000-$13,500!!
If you opt to just have me PULL AND REPLACE THE ENGINE ONLY with a new one or used one THAT YOU PROVIDE, I will charge $800 LABOR ONLY, and you may get lucky and find a good, low-mileage JDM motor, or freshly built engine from a private seller as low as $1500. If you find a freshly built ported motor, from a private seller or shop, for $3,000 you will have one fast RX-7 for under $14,000.
SO THE NEW PRICE IS $10,000 FIRM AND I CAN GET A MOTOR IN THERE AND RUNNING FOR ANOTHER $3,000-$4,000.
........
damn man what a bummer... *cryin for you*![]()

Yes, I would have voted for her.

And thats why rx-7s are good second cars
hey i was wondering if u were willing to trade your car for somting or if u were just wanting cash? i have a scion xb 2005 manual... with 29,000 miles and lots of upgrades...
10k for a shell is CRAZYYYY
wow, thats 2 bad. i was just thinking if someone would have bought it from the jump and then the engine went out? y dont u replace the engine and get it back up to sell at your asking price. nice car though.
that the best bet.. I dont see a shell going for 10k.. it is VERY clean and low miles but I think 7k would be more reasonable..
I'f I only had 15k laying around to buy it and a ls1![]()
$10K is not too much. If it didn't have any engine or trans in it, then $7k would be right. Like i said, if I do the labor for the buyer it can be running good for $13K.... $2.5K less than what i was asking.
If someone buys it, finds a good used motor, and does the labor them self... they would have the car for as low as $12,000.
I do not have enough money to fix the engine, so it has to sell...... and it needs to sell ASAP!
damn i would of felt sorry for the guy who got a loan out for 15k
That's the way these cars can be though.... running great one minute.... broken the next
.
yea, but thats life.
I was considering a RX-7 except this fact makes me want to steer clear. Whish I could afford an LS1 swap though, then it would be fast, and reliable.Originally Posted by Five*Star*

MORE PICS AND INFO ARE IN THIS THREAD FROM RX7club.com

Just curious but what would the cost be to rebuild the motor ..? Is there a chance of it happening again?
The info and cost is posted a few posts above. Rotaries can take plenty abuse, but as soon as something goes wrong, they don't like.... IE. radiator cracks, car rapidly overheats, motor needs a rebuild. In proper running conditions rotaries are great engines, but they just need to be in their "safe zone" so-to-speak. Get me?
bump, still for sale
