1989 Ford Ranger. Has been swapped to a roller HO 5.0L engine. The transmission is a M5R2 manual transmission from a 1990 Ford F-150.
The mods are:
Holley Carb
Edelbrock Intake
B-303 camshaft
Hedman Headers
Flowmaster mufflers
Bigger radiator
Aftermarket temp and oil pressure guages
Firehawk tires with lots of tread
The M5R2 transmission whines when it is being driven. I went to a transmission shop he said the fluid must have been low at one point and caused this but the best thing to do would be just drive it until you have a serious problem with it then replace the gears. He said changing the transmission fluid to 20W50 oil and some lucas oil additive may quiet it down but I have yet to try this.
I am currently daily driving the truck. Another bad point is it has no AC. The tires are fairly new. The interior is really clean.
