FS: 1997 Honda Del Sol DOHC VTEC ABS *RARE*

Up for sale is my Del Sol. Probably one of the CLEANEST Del Sol's around. This car is a virgin and has never had ANY engine mods. Stock exhaust manifold, OEM drop in filter, etc etc. 1997 with 130k miles. DOHC VTEC with ABS. SUPER SUPER RARE. Cypress green with grey interior. Factory 6 disk cd changer . Never been wrecked, no paint work EVER. Air conditioning blows COLD.

Original wheels/tires are included.

MODS

Crimson Racing Sparco NSIII 15x7 +35 with almost new Dunlop 195/15 tires. Only importer for these wheels is MemoryFab who has imported only two sets of these in this color.

Tein S-Tech springs
Skunk Shift knob
JDM antenna block off plate
Tenzo Turismo 350MM steering wheel

That's IT. No intake. No exhaust. No header. This car has seen Vtec 3 times if that since I've owned it. This car is CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. The paint looks brand new, it The engine bay has NOT been cleaned since I've owned it.

Clean title in hand.

Always open for trades. No Hondas unless it's a beat to fuck S2000.

It is a DOHC b16a2 and it came stock in there so did the stickers.

No offense man, I didn't buy the car to go fast. I picked it up because it gets killer gas mileage and it can still get out of it's own way on the highway.

On the contrary, guys, my friend James sold his 97 DOHC VTEC in similiar condition with a few more mods (intake, aftermarket strut, header, exhaust, electrical upgrades) for $11,500 last summer. Hate to say it, but del Sols are at a premium among people who want them. ESPECIALLY ones this clean.

Seller dude man.. PM me and I'll help you get that thing sold to someone who will take care of it. I actually have someone in mind right now.... he just bought a third del Sol so I dunno if he's in the market, but I'm sure between the three of us (you, me, and him), we can come up with someone.

bump for a CLEAN del Sol... and that's coming from someone who has owned these cars for 6 years.

PS.. the DOHC VTEC stickers on the sides are NOT stock. The only stock DOHC VTEC badge that came with the del Sol was the one on the rear, and that was only there from 95-97. However, the side stickers (which are off a 99-01 Si) are a common enough mod.

it has a B16A2 in it i'm pretty sure...i looked at the block code the other day...it was kinda dirty...could have been a 3 but im almost positive it is a b16a2

A3 is the Del sol motor, but since its OBD2, it might be the A2

b16a3 came on 94-95 del sol dohc.......96-97 went to obd2 therefore receiving the b16a2...the same setup the comes in the 99-00 si

WRONG. In 1994 and 1995 the del Sols were the first honda marketed car to sport a DOHC VTEC motor, powered by the b16a3. In 1996 and 1997, as the OBD generation changed from OBDI to OBDII, the del Sol DOHC VTEC models got the B16a2 almost 3 years before the EM1 civic Si was released to the world. This car DOES have a B16a2, not a3.

And just to let you know, guys, among del Sol collectiing people like myself, a 97 DOHC VTEC in Cypress Green (aka this car) is IT as far as del Sols go. One of the rarest color/motor combinations, a lot of people say that the cypress green is the perfect color for the sol, and I tend to agree. The only del Sol that enjoys as much coveting as a 97 DOHC VTEC in cypress green is a 95 DOHC VTEC in Isle Green or Granada Black.

I've been on the phone all fucking morning about this car with my sol dorks.

But if you guys need to know anything at ALL about del Sols in general, shoot em my way, I'll be happy to answer them if the seller can't field them first.. While I don't know this particular Sol, I can definitely help out with general del Sol questions.

Oh yeah.. there is one more mod not mentioned... that lip up front is an EG civic lip... again, an extremely common mod for del Sols... we tend to like the way it makes the front bumper look.
