    Default F/S 1986 Volkswagen GTI Price dropped MUST SELL FAST

    Make: Volkswagen
    Model: 1986 Golf GTI 8v
    Miles: around 150,000

    SOLD!!
    NEW PRICE:700
    Pros:
    The body is very straight and it has never been wrecked. It has a new in-line bosch fuel pump,a new carter in-tank fuel pump, new falken Ziex 512s (195/60-14 and less the 50 miles on them), new Shift linkage, prime condition snowflake wheels (14x6), the fuel distributer is in good working condition (no plunger problems), and no major dents. The car does run and drive.

    Cons:
    The engine has valve Clatter and has an oil leak on the back right side. Rust is on the floor pans due to weatherstripping but no where else. The weather stripping on the doors is shot. The A/C and heat also don't work (doesn't blow at all). Needs one shifter bushing (cheap and easy part).

    The car is a great project for anyone wanting a daily driver in the summer and has plenty of time to fix the problems before winter. I am getting rid of it because my parents are moving and i am about to go off to college. I am asking 1200 nego or looking for something to trade (i could put cash in too on a trade) . Please help a college kid out! Thanks!

    Whats up with the truck? Get some info on it too and some pics?

    If you are looking at maybe trading both, interested in my hatch. Has the quarter damage but not bad at all. We could even negotiate me fixing it, so... My hatch is just a few threads down. It is title 95 Civic hatch dx or something like that.

    I'll Make another post on the truck in the next few days. Its an 1988 Toyota pickup with 310,000 miles. Yeah, its alot but it still runs great. Its got a little tick but i've seen alot of toyotas with that. Its got the 22r engine and its a 4 speed. it has just a little damage on the front left cause it rolled into a tree at about 5mph......i'm an idiot

    Lol, aight, thats cool man. I was just throwing it out there. Good luck though, I used to have a 86 GTI and I loved it. I kinda miss it. Lol. Actually, I miss a lot of cars I use to have.

    Well, I bought the car for 800 because it appeared to have no rust on it. but with the rust i'm shooting for 500 plus all the new stuff that is on it. So i'm hoping to get around 1k from it. Pm me with an offer and we'll talk about it.

    looking at the pictures again.. and considering the oil leak and the valve clatter.. the price is a 'little' bit high...

    your oil leak can be from three things if it's motor oil... valve cover gasket, front main+intermediate shaft, or the rear main.

    the valve clatter is from the worn hydraulic lifters so they don't pump up fully and cause them to run dry.
