Default 1983 Jaguar XJ6 with SBC

I just picked this up a couple months ago from a local guy on Craigslist but found another 240Z I want and a Z trumps a Jaguar. It has a straight body, very clean leather upholstery (dash is cracked and wood trim finish is cracked like about every Jaguar ever), and a 305 SBC swap done with JTR parts and looks like a clean swap. The p/o told me the gas tanks leaked a little when more than a few gallons were in each, and the brakes were spongy. It runs and drives, but would suggest fixing the brakes up first. We drove it on and off the trailer when I got it.

Here's what I found out so far by playing with it: the gas tanks don't appear to have any rust holes. The passenger one is out and the outside looks solid as a rock, just had a bad job of a re-seal and it wasn't holding to the walls of the tank anymore, and there was surface rust from sitting. It wasn't even hooked up. The driver side isn't out yet, but I do have the lower half of the rear 1/4 off and it's bottom half looks just as solid as the passenger side tank. I'm sure it's in the same condition as the other, just suffering from a bad re-seal. Have a shop dip and re-seal, or since the trunk is so MASSIVE, there are many options for fuel cell placement.

As far as the brakes, I'd say the problem with them is that there was no check valve placed in the line coming from the intake manifold into the brake booster. The JTR book says there needs to be one because oil/fuel vapors going straight into the booster eat up the seals inside and cause it to not work properly, and that most times, that is the culprit.

Once those two problems are addressed, the car should be ready to go. It's a classic body with a clean interior and sounded pretty mean when the car was idling and the car fired up immediately after the key was turned. No turning over for 3 or 4 seconds waiting for it to catch, it was immediate.

    I'm asking $1200. I'm in Chattanooga, TN.

Would also trade for twin turbo 300ZX performance parts.
