No they used belts... I installed it myself so I know for a fact. Plus I had over 5 years as a tech at a Chrysler dealer working on them and did numersous timing belts and heads on these cars. People are notorious for not changing the belts and the pistons will interfere with the vavles causing losts of damage to the engine and your pocket.
