Volkswagen fox project
I have a 90 Volkswagen Fox wagon for sale. It is a project car so it will need some work. The car suprisingly has been a daily for me for a while so you can drive it home.
the bad:
*clutch holds, can be driven hard, but once its good and hot the rear main leaks, so after a lot of hard driving look forward to a slipping clutch. Overall it needs a clutch and rear main.
*needs front struts
*needs oil pan
*needs o rings and seats for inj.
*needs cam shaft seal
*starter
*speedo cable
The leaks are whats hurting this car. I drove it to florida and back no problems, and yes i was driving it hard-lol. The car has a 98 aba with a big valve head that has been milled. Still on stock exhaust but no mufflers, so its loud. It also has a 5spd tranny. Wagons came equipped with the 4spd treatment from the factory. The interior is completely stripped from the front seats back. The drivers seat is a momo corse racing seat, and the passenger is a vw sport seat. The interior has been completely converted to blk interior from what was once brown. Lots of cans and spray dye but it looks good. I also redid the door panels with black carpet. Suspension is currently eibachs that were supposedly cut, stock front struts, and rear koni yellows. The wheels are bronze snowflakes, on 195/60/14 hankook RS2's with decent tread still on them. I just did front brake pads and rotors not too long ago.
As you can see the things to get the car in a more "reliable" state are minor, its the labor that will cost ya, and i know most of us old schoolers just do it ourselves. But as i said before this was a dailer driver. It has heat, but no ac. I removed it to save weight but still have the compressor. The car is amazingly easy to work on. I could explain the aba swap to you with no ?s. I had plans on keeping the car but just dont have time to do it anymore. I have a new car, and plan on going back to school so a project isnt very smart at the moment. But the car is very unique and always turns heads, maybe not always in a good way-lol. But its solid, some may say it needs a lot but i drove the hell out of it. Its like a tank it just keeps going. I can get in it now and beat it to death if i wanted to. Im sure that doesnt sound good for a sell but im just an honest guy. Ill tell you everything thats wrong with it, i wont send u off with a bag of bs. My motto is a car is meant to be driven.
