Gallo 12 or 24 either is good
On a more serious note... I'd go turbo if you're going to do anything. I couldn't imagine going through the effort of an engine swap on a platform like that.
See if you can find one of those dirt cheap ebay kits.
Kind of a broad question. What do you want the car for? If you're going to track it and have it as a weekend track project, then that's one direction. If it's going to be a daily, I wouldn't worry about the "fastest" engine. Maybe a good, quick engine. And if it's to be a dedicated (getting to work and such) daily, I wouldn't turbo it. No reason to get the "fastest" engine for a street car.
By the way, I believe the fastest engine would be a Formula 1 engine. They rev, if I remember correctly, over 18,000rpms.

Hella stock member!
Cmon folks, this is general tech
But yeah he does kind of deserve to be trolled, but he probably thinks everyone is serious right now...
Any how thread starter, there are a bunch of different engines that you can put in there with enough money and custom work. up to 2000+ HP, depends on how much you want to spend. If you're not serious about it, don't mod your daily driver. If you are serious about it- start doing research.
watch this:
Pop the clutch and your entire drivetrain flies through a local orphanage window.
If its a coupe and SR5 you have the best engine those are great cars as they come for that gen. If it is a sedan then id just sell it to a person needing a daily driver and get another project

You know better; next time will be a ban.
