wheel adapter

new to the forum and to modding to my 2000 gt, so to set the scene of where i am right now, i have been lookin for a nice set of rims for my celica for a long time now, and i finally found a set off CL, and according to the seller the rims were 5x100, so i was all for buying them ( 150$)


( after i washed em up)**they are 10 spoke arospeed 17"x8.5 215/45zr17**

NOW i come to find out these are not 5x100 as infact they are 5x114 ( honest mistake seeing that there are 5x100 5x108 and 5x114 on 3 of the 10 spokes { dont know why }

so i was thinking of buying

but with that pushing out 1" will i need to do anything with the wheel well


if i dont have to do anything with the wheel well my only REAL concern at this point is

Couple things......

The wheel spacers you're looking at are neither hub or wheel centric. so there's about a 99% chance its going to vibrate and/or stress your studs and potentially break your studs. When you buy a thin adapter, your factory wheel studs are going to stick out past the adapter plate. So you're going to need to purchase shorter wheel studs and repress them. This task is a pain in the ass on most cars. You can cut them.... but having done this, i would advise against it.

Even the medium grade spacers youre looking at are $140+SH, plus the cost of new studs. The actual spacers you need to be safe and not have vibration are going to cost you around $350+SH+ the cost of new studs.

By the time you spend this amount of money to buy adapters, you would be much better off to just cut your losses, sell the wheels you have and purchase a new set of wheels. Wheels are not expensive. Here's an ebay link ( http://myworld.ebay.com/wheels*n*sto...84.m1497.l2754 ) to a discount wheel store that has over 100 wheels to chose from that are brand new in the boxes for less than $350. I've purchased wheels there myself.

If you do decide to go the wheel adapter route anyways (at your own peril) , here is a link to a wheel adapter shop that can actually make a safe spacer that is custom fit to your exact vehicle and wheel. well from what i read from the site ( for the adapters ) they are for driving use and if i need centric rings they arent expensive to order as well. if im on the right mind track, i shouldnt have to to cut the studs since they are just under an 1" long the these adapters are 132$ for all 4 , 70$ for a pair
