    Default 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo -300hp- $6200

SEE UPDATES AT BOTTOM OF POST! Its not for sale for $6200, right now I'm looking for $5000 CASH, FIRM.

    1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo (SW22)
    2.0L DOHC turbocharged 4-cylinder engine (3S-GTE)
    5-speed manual transmission
    T-tops (good t-top seals!)
    170,000mi
Engine rebuilt at 161,000 w/ new timing belt
This is not a conversion or engine swap, it is a real '91 MR2 Turbo. Its a very fast car and is in excellent shape for its mileage. It gets 24+ mpg around town if you don't hit boost, and 27+ highway. I got an Apexi Neo S-AFC piggyback fuel management system and a manual boost controller put on it last year, and got the car dynotuned at Mainstream Performance over in Powder Springs. It has 260 rwhp with 14psi of boost, which is about 300 crank hp. That's about 100 more hp than a stock MR2 Turbo. All the work was done right; the car boosts perfectly and drives like a new MR2. This is a very fast car and gets 0-60 in under 5 seconds. I'm selling it because I have 3 cars and I need money more than I need a 3rd car, so my loss is your gain.

    Pros:
    New MAF and starter
    Scytek 2-way alarm system
AutoMeter pillar-mounted boost and air/fuel gauges
    Wilwood 12" brake conversion
1" lowering springs front and rear
Apexi Neo S-AFC piggyback fuel management and tuning
Manual boost controller w/ 2 settings, stock 10psi and 14psi
    Turbo timer
New (<5,000mi) Toyo Proxes T1R performance tires
300 crank hp dynotuned @ Mainstream Performance
HFH (Hose from Hell, common problem with MR2s) changed less than 5,000mi ago
Alpine headunit (CDA-9811) with component speakers
2 Rockford Fosgate punch 250a amplifiers
    Greddy exhaust/muffler
    Aftermarket BOV
T-tops with good seals and inserts
16" ASA (by BBS) silver wheels
    2011 emissions

    Cons:
    A/C needs to be recharged
    Cruise control doesn't work
Wiring for radio is bad. There's some static/distortion at lower volumes but the radio and speakers work.
I'm looking for $5500 but I'm open to offers. I'll also consider a trade for a Toyota Tacoma or other truck w/ a manual transmission and cash.
770-316-0197 Best hours to reach me are 1pm-9pm M-F. PM me if you want more pictures.

Update: sorry I haven't been able to answer your questions. I've been getting a lot of e-mails and texts about the car so I was mostly just dealing with them. Anyways, now the car is running very well, it just needs new rear tires. The fronts have a lot of life left, but for some reason the car just eats rear tires, lol. I also just put on new rear brake pads, and the fronts have 60-70% life left so the brakes are all good. Asking price is now $5500.

I don't have papers on the rebuild, but from what the previous owner told me the rings were replaced, the seals in the turbo were rebuilt, the compressor wheel was changed out, and overall everything was inspected while the engine was opened up. External stuff like the waterpump, alternator, etc, were left alone (I just had to replace the alternator, and starter). It runs and drives very well, and makes good power. I've been talking to people on the MR2 forum and they say its unusual that it has so much power, a guy's '91 MR2 with similar mods only makes about 200 rwhp. So it probably has more done to it than I know about. The turbo looks like its a ct26 though because that's what it says on the housing. I have dyno sheets from when I got it dynotuned, it made 261 rwhp and 248 rwtq. According to the MR2 people about 240 rwhp is 300 crank in an MR2, so 261 rwhp is somewhere around 310-320 crank hp, not the 300 crank I originally thought. Anyways, e-mail me or PM me if you're interested. Also, my # is 770-316-0197 and I respond faster to texts if you want to contact me that way.

I've gotten at least a dozen offers for $4500 cash. So which person am I supposed to sell to? One of you is going to have to bid higher if you want the car.

    Update:

Car's still for sale, I'm still looking for $5000 cash. I've gotten several other offers for $5000 cash, but none of them can buy the car til later in the week. No one has put down a deposit yet, but I might get 1 from a guy tonight so I may take the ads down soon.

Here's the dyno sheet from when I got it dynotuned: http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/5...40001small.jpg

With 20% drivetrain loss, that 261 rwhp and 248 rwtq comes out to be about 326 crank hp and 310 crank tq. Its a fast car, small and light, and it has 12" wilwood brakes and suspension mods to even it out. It really is an awesome car. Please let me know if you're interested. It also has an upgraded turbo (don't know what, I'm thinking ct27 because it still uses the ct26 housing) and possibly a mild cam, to explain why it has so much top-end power.

Is there a way I can delete this thread and create another? The price in the title is wrong and I can't change it.
