Default 1987 corolla GTS rolling chassis

I really hate to do this as I've spent so much time working on this car and building it. I was planning to put in an SR recently but got screwed on my deal and am now looking to get a car ready as quick as possible so am going to switch cars. Now onto the car details...

    quick read:
    1987 Corolla GTS
    246k miles on the chassis
    vin: JT2AE88S2H028603
    Mods: listed below
    Engine: none
    options: listed below

The car has been in my possession for over a year. I picked it up in Tennessee Last January in stock form. From here I fixed the rear-end as it had hit a curb. The Lateral bar mount was replaced by a reputable body shop and you would not know it was not stock unless I told you. Then I did a full tune-up on the car with fluids from front to back and all filters changed along with plugs and wires and all the usual stuff. From here I began my upgrades. I began with the suspension and did all the bushings first and then began getting the arms. So from here I'll just make a list of the current mods:

    Suspension:
    Rear:
All bushings where replaced with either TRD bushings or Polyurethane bushings.
Custom adjustable 4-link with heim joint ends
    Battleversion Lateral Bar
Paradise Racing rear coilovers with 6kg/mm springs and 12 way adjustable shocks. These are also a short stroke configuration.
Currently has an Sr-5 rear-end as the GTS one snapped
Custom Made triangulated Strut tower brace was welded into the car.
    Front:
Paradise racing coilovers with 6kg/mm spring rates and super gab non-adjustable shocks with T3 upperhats and Camber plates.
Stainless steel brake and clutch lines
    New Rotors/pads/wheel bearings
All Bushings where replaced up front with polyurethane ones
    Battleversion Tension Rods
    Megan Racing STB

Engine: The Engine in it was just a stock bluetop with a header, intake, and lightweight flywheel.
The motor was pulled because it would not stay in timing and I had another motor to install. Plans changed.. as usual. The engine bay was cleaned and prepped for an install the battery tray was cut out as it was the only part on the entire car that was rusty and I patched up the holes. The wiring harness is still in place so If someone where interested they could toss a bluetop in the car and have it running in probably a day. I could do this for an increase in price if the buyer is interested. In the process the AC system was removed from the engine bay, the car was a power steering car and I still have
everything non-motor related to reinstall it.

    Interior:
The interior is pretty much stock, it's a 9 out of 10 only because the headliner on it is stained because one of the previous owners was a smoker. The car has been away from them for many years so that is the only sign of a smoker. If you are interested I have another headliner that is for a non-sunroof car that I could put in. The Only real differences from stock interior wise is there is a Cd-player in it and I have a Sparco steering wheel on a quick release which can be included, however it will be coming with just a stock steering wheel on it. The Driver seat is a super clean Sr-5 seat as the old one had a huge tear in it. The Passenger seat is the factory one and is also in perfect condition. The Dash has absolutely no fading or cracking in it and the clock cover is perfect as well(These tend to break a lot). All the instrumentation worked perfectly. It has manual windows and mirrors but a power sun-roof that still works fine. The backseat of the car is also perfect, however the passenger side rear seat-belt is kinda tricky to get to pull out. The floor carpet is also very good although the D/S floormat has a bit of wear from feet however the carpet is perfect. The pedal covers have been worn down and I believe the brake and clutch pedal ones have fallen off.

    Exterior:
The paint on the car has some minor fading in places. The main places are on the sunroof though so if you wanted it could just be taken out and the roof welded up. The Driver side door of the car has one scratch on it from like a key which I honestly don't know where it came from. I have a hood thats in perfect shape and one that has a couple of dents in it, both will be included. The Driverside fender of the car is removed and is sanded down because it was painted another color. I can reinstall this if you would like, or it could remain off making it easier to paint. The Car is silver/gray as seen in the pictures and is in pretty good shape over all for a 20 year old car. It's mainly just the roof that is kind of rough. There is a very minor dent in front of the D/S tail light that you probably won't be able to see in the pictures. Other than that the car is dent free. The front bumper is off as well as the grill. I can reinstall all of this if you would like however it may be easier to remain off for now. I have the stock radiator if the buyer would like it as well. Really all this car needs to be running again is a Motor and Transmission to be installed. The only thing needed would be a good bluetop longblock with intake, exhaust, and all exterior accesories(i.e. alternator and powersteering pump). It would plug right in to the existing harness and should fire right up. The coil on the car is brand new and the battery included is only about a year old. There are no cracks in any of the lights or any of the glass. There is a minor chip in the windshield from like a rock but it didn't crack it. There is also a minor dent in the P/S fender towards the light, it didn't affect the light at all however it could probably use to be popped out and cleaned up.

Other than that there's not much to say except that it has 246k miles on the chassis and I've basically taken all of my money and time and invested it into this car lovingly and really hate to see it go. If you have any questions at all about this car Im positive I can satisfactorily answer them. I am no negotiable on the price it is firm and I feel it is very fair as the suspension alone is worth it let alone finding a very Clean original GTS chassis. This car would be great for someone who is looking at getting into drifting and wants to get to know the car a little before beating on it. This car was driven in 6 or 7 drift events by myself pretty much the way it sits now plus the GTS drivetrain. I would love to keep this car but at the time I have neither the money or the time to do with it what I've always hoped to. I am going off to college in the fall and I need something that I can depend upon not having to spend my weekends coming home to finish building. This car was very reliable for me up until the time when I took it apart. The only problem it ever gave me was the headgasket was blown when I got it and the alternator was bad. Other than the snapped axle I mentioned earlier I had no severe normal driving problems from this car. If it was restored to an original GTS drivetrain it should be very reliable and fun. This car can be vouched for by many in the ATL drift scene as it has been at most all the events even if I wasn't driving it. If you have any questions which I haven't already answered (not likely seeing this book I just wrote) feel free to contact me here, through e-mail, or by phone: 678-936-7228. Thanks for any interest you have and now enjoy a plethora of past and present photos. Oh yeah the wheels on the car currently Are Celica supras that where cleaned up and painted black with a polished lip. The paint hasn't cracked yet so I doubt it will for a long time as there are multiple coats and a couple of coats of clear over them. The tires on them are 185/60/14 Falken Ziex 512's with 85-90% thread up front and in the rear I have some older Goodyear Eagle VR60's in 205/60/14 with maybe 30% tread left from Kieren at GTE. However I have 4-8 spare wheels coming with the car all of which have decent tread on them some almost new.

    When I first got it:

    As it sits Currently:
Here's the engine bay pre-clean up and post-clean up
    http://profile.imageshack.us/user/za...5136304lm.smil

here's the fender thats currently off it, I'll clean it up a bit as there is still a little paint on it.

This is an entire spare interior that I have from an Sr-5 I had that can be bought or pieces of can be bought:

This is the original hood with the 2 minor dents in it

These are all the random parts that will come with the car:

This is the damage to the P/S fender

This is the scratch on the driverside door:

These are the wheels/tires that will come with it. Theres some pizza cutters, steelies, and a pair of 280zx wheels I believe in there. Should be 6 wheels.

This is the hood that is in very good shape and will also be included:

I also have a Walbro 255 lph fuel pump that is for sale for $100 it is for the AE86 and comes with all accessories included from Walbro. The 4-link is not currently installed as I need to replace two of the heim joint ends which I will do sometime this week.

My asking price is $2000 as it sits and any work on my part will make the price go up. I have tons of extras that will mostly be just included however I also have things laying around you may be interested in for extra money.

    -Thanks,
    Zach

Yeah it is a good bit for a shell, but to find a clean corolla shell and one with all the suspension sorted out already and pretty close to being very versatile as far as motorsports go is worth it. I would definitely say it's tricky to find a good corolla shell as this is one of two which I have found over the past two years that where in good shape and at least relatively local. Usually they have rust, or tons of problems that have to be sorted. Sure this one has no motor/trans but they're not super hard to come by and it leaves it open to personal choice on what you want to do drive-train wise. Thanks for the comments, and I hope I can clear it out of here quick.

Just so you guys know, This car is a deal. You could pick up a 400 dollar 4age, put it in, and have a full suspension ae86 for 2400 bucks. I totally vouch because i've known zach for some time know, and hes no bullshitter. I've ridden in and driven this car when it had a running motor, and really is great,

The shell is retarted clean and straight. Buy it. Drop in a motor, and love it.

Thanks for all the bumps and kind words about the thread, now someone buy the darn thing hehehe. Austin has definately driven this car, and drifted it. That was actually pre-coilovers in the rear, at that point it was shocks and springs in the rear. The car handles better than it did at that point and there is a good bit of adjustability in the damping, and if you wanted you could purchase a different spring rate for the front to make it the typical 8/6 kg/mm combo from paradise racing for like $90. I just hope it sells soon cause I'd like to start frequenting events again.

    Zach

This car is more than worth it, shell or not. The Suspension alone is worth over 2k. Hell, coilovers for a Hachi are half that easily. If you want to get into a Hachi, this is the car for you to do it with. Good luck finding anything that isn't rusted out with a fucked up motor you would have to rebuild anyway for under 2k.

Sad to see you sell it.

You and me both, but It's gonna be for the best as at this point I just need something I can be competitive in at events like immediately!!!!

Oh yeah forgot to mention I have a full 6 Russel Speed bleeders to be included with the car. These will make bleeding the brakes 10 times easier, and theres on there for the clutch and also just a spare. The 2 for the rear can be used on either a GTS rear-end or probably the celica 7.5 if you wanted to swap to something heavier duty.

Haul more stuff with hatch, Glides coupe is the only one that looks better. So you're also saying coupes are DIRT cheap too? My 3tc is a hatch but i want a GTS hatch now, a running one. I like the suspension u have though.

Well, I have a 240 and so I would be willing to take parts I could use for it, or I suppose also I may be interested in certain tools, as in a TIG. Let me know if you have any S13 parts, I need a 1 piece drive-shaft, light weight flywheel, good clutch, aftermarket tie-rods, full black interior.., umm a few other little things.
