So wussup with this date? are we changing its or still the 1st?
I'll tell you what... We may have to remove the "required" label on this because it appears that SOMEone (not anyone in particular, just speaking in generalities) will be left out of at least one set of pics. I'm pretty much open after lunch. I know Casey said he's gotta do it before 2 which doesn't leave much time.
I will talk to the wife-unit and tell her I might be missing church that day. Then I'll be ready whenever. I plan on being at the MoG as a meet point (let's say the old Toys R Us building like we used to) and I'll be there at 1, potentially earlier. From there we can talk of places to go. I've thrown some ideas up and I've been told some ideas by various members so I've got a few good areas.
I was down by IKEA the other day and saw a few REALLY hot places to snap pics.

the only camera i have is the 10megap. sony. and i'm not familiar with MoG area. yall have to show me how to get to the only Toy R us off of I85 going north lol.
i can bring my nikon and see if steve atl_e92 will come out since im sure wallace will make an appearance : ) lolol

Tom, my best camera is 4mgpx FTL! It's like 5 years old... lol. Tom, from 85 N. Get off at the MoG exit (115?) go towards the mall. When you loop around, get all the way to the left lane and take a left at the next light. It's the big parking lot on your left. Can't miss it, it's behind Burger King.
Jared, I'd like to get rolling shots so multiple cameras as well as multiple riders would be helpful. The road that IKEA is off of, has some nice scenic townhomes with a really well done median (like architecture, park benches, rivers) so if we had, say someone on the sidewalk taking pics as we roll by, it'd be.... wow.
However, that's in Atlanta.

It'll be great if everyone can make it out to the shoot and I understand that everyone cant make it out due to various reasons. So my suggestion is that we push back the date of the shoot so that everyone can be there. It will really suck balls that we had a Top Notch crew photo shoot and didn't have everyone in Top Notch in it. Bloodline is in the NYC so he Def. can't make it to the shoot. But we can have one when he gets back. So in the mean time, push back the date so that everyone can be there. Now again, that just my suggestion. :2cents:

i understand everyone was excited but, this is going to represent our club, so we need EVERYONE there....when joining this club people understood (or at least should have) that commitment to make it to Events were expected. obviously this is not an easy task and life will always have last second issues or whatever but lets shoot for a date and do it..if you work take off if you have any suggestions here is the place to throw it out there
I do not want to sound like an ass but as much as i consider everyone in this club family and very close friends, we are still a car club... this is something we need to do for the interest of the club.
as for non-members go, we always enjoy company and new faces BUT, we need to have things organized for TN events internally before making a page long list of people..... i do not mean to turn any one away or discourage anyone from joining us in our meets or events but please do not litter our thread making it harder for members of the club to keep up and understand wtf is going on...i say this because all the thread litter made it so hard to know what the plans were.
dale this is your idea...i love it and support it 100% and if you need any help or anything i am willing to help plan or organize this as im sure casey and the rest of the club are too...
if anyone has any other issues my PM box still has some room =]

So. Obviously I've changed the title to reflect the recent issues with the date. While Sumi is right, this is my thread, it's in complete interest for the club and I don't want to be held in sole responsibility for the date because it's not just for me. All of TN needs to be able to attend.
I am more apt to pick a weekend because I think it's generally easier for most folks to get around on those days. Common work schedules are 9-5 or somewhere close with Sat. and Sun. off. Most schools don't have classes on weekends. I understand some people have church and if we have a Jewish person and a Christian person, obviously someone's gonna have to miss it or go early.
I've said personally that I don't mind missing church because I am a religious dude and my beliefs tell me that God will forgive me for missing one service. I also understand that some people took off for the 1st (in at least one case immediately upon reading this thread). So next time the date is posted, I have no intention on changing it.
For the sake of clutter, any post hereafter not directly pertaining to the meet will be deleted or moved to the WL appropriately. This goes for all TN and non TN members.
For the sake of organization, we need a list of folks who can bring a camera (preferrably nice ones for better pics). Please feel free to PM me if you have equipment to use (don't get too specific, just say "nice camera: SLR/Point-n-shoot, have lenses, tripod, mexapixels, etc." I don't need to know if you have a Sony Cybershot.
I personally have a video camera that I can bring as well as a buddy who might assist in filming. Getting said footage off the minidiscs might prove to be somewhat of a challenge, but that's not you guys' problem.
Lastly, I need to know dates that are good for people. Don't just say "Any day is good" and when the date is posted say "That doesn't work for me" because I will go back and quote you if you say "any day works." When you put the date, say if there is a specific time you wish to aim for (obviously sometimes taking off work is impossible). However, let me stress that rarely have we ever really required anyone to be at a meet. That was sort of the whole point to this group was a place for people to be treated like family, less like a club, but with some of the benefits of a club. I'm sure if I said a magazine was going to put us on the front page, everyone would make time. Treat this meet as such. We want sponsors and to do this, we need to show we're serious.
So please, indulge me.
I'd have to go check my calendar but I am pretty sure there isn't much on the weekends that would prevent me from a meet. Generally speaking on Sat. afternoons (late, like 8 o'clock), I meet up with my potential new boss to work on CCNA stuff. However, I can meet with him on Sun if needed, or I could meet up with him earlier in the day if I had to. That's my only real obligation that happens every week. I literally just paused, went to my fridge and checked my calendar and there is nothing on any weekend up to the 21st of Nov. that I have to do. However, the 19th is my birthday so the 21st will probably be a party for me.
Damn that post made up for some of my previous post whoring.
I'm guessin sumi talkin about me seems I'm the only none member ever on :(..... I'm sry :(

OK... Since I seem to be the ringmaster on this thread. Here it is guys. I am posting this in late October. The date will be late November. A month.... hopefully plenty of time to get things squared away. I appreciate all who might've taken off of work for the 1st and it failed. I appreciate your willingness to do what you had to do for the club.
The date I'm about to post will not change. If I happen to not be there, that's my deal. If you happen to not be there, that's your deal. Not trying to be a dick, just saying. Make it if you can, not sure you'll necessarily be kicked out if you can't (though that's not my discretion).

Again. We understand that not everyone's schedules will absolutely coincide with this date. I will be taking the WHOLE day off (from church, the wife, any previous social obligations) for this club. I ask you do the same if you can.

Keep this thought in mind but please don't let this discourage you from doing what you can to make it. If you don't make this, I'm sure we'll have another one sometime in the first quarter of 2010. Don't beat yourself up to much.

This should be plenty o' time to get kits affixed to the rides, claybar and wash (ahem DALE!!!) if you need to, fix what's broken, and basically take off work.
