    ** I'm in Indianapolis so you won't know the roads **

    ~ 1990ish Stang Notch

    I take the "back" way (Curry Road) back from lunch today for some reason. I get to Vernal Pike where I am SUPPOSED to turn right and head back to work. I see the notch, and he is inching forward well before the light turns green, so I figure I will run him from Vernal to SR46 (of course shutting down somewhere in between or we'd be slamming into 46 at about 130mph. ANYWAY ... I arm the gas and flick the remote bottle opener switch.

    ** light goes green **

    BAM!!! I hook hard . Acceleration = yummy!! He pulls BARELY a fender. It's on.

    "mmmMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMBAAAAAAAHHHH!!! "


    I got the switch in my hand, gettin ready to lay it on his ass from 2nd on up.

    Moment of truth, I see 8400RPMS - shift light, then BOOM: the 1 --> 4 shift!!!

    "BAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr "

    That bitch pulled so hard I was like - uhhh --- yeah. LOL. If it had more than a CAI I'd be surprised but I feel like a fuckin n00b. The infamous 1 - 4 shift! LOL.



    As I was doing a u-turn in the middle of the road I could see the hazards and hear him giving the car hell (revving multiple times). LOL. Damn I felt so stupid. I quit.

    Yeah I know. By the time I was at the top of 1st I nosed him out bc he had to shift 1st... it would have DEF been a slaughter on or off the bottle - well, errrr... pending the right gear selection. Heh heh.

    ^^ Ahh - the 3 --> 2 shift. I have heard about that AMAZING technique. I never use it though.

    you guys really suck at driving.. 3-2 and 1-4.... dammit guys! Making us all look bad!

    The only missed shift I have EVER done was in my 87 ranger with a trans that was fucked up from the start... and I trumped 3-2 AND 1-4 in one smooth move... the infamous 3-R shift... at 50 miles an hour. Broke the driveshaft and dropped the entire transmission out of the truck. *giggle*

    The only shifting issues I have if my 4 - 5 somtimes I would accidently go 4 - 3.

    And then there is there infamous 'oops missed 2nd GRRRRRRIIIIIDDD' this doesnt happen often any more...
