Default Me Vs. Stock C5, Moded C5 ZO6 and Lankhoss

Let’s the shit talk begins. Thanks again to all the corvette owners; I had fun in every race.

BTW Lankhoss you car sounds sick, you exhaust sounds close to a le mans C6-R.

Great video man, thanks for posting. Thanks for the compliments....the C6 Z definitely has its own sound.

I won't have a problem lining them up again when we're both at 100% if you want. But maybe we'll have more luck if it's warmer out, huh?

Dude I think last weekend was the last one for me; I'm in the process of upgrading my roll cage in my race car, But I let you know next year once I get a boost controller that can hold 15 lbs I will love to hear your car again

    Later.

Ha, sounds good! I am getting my car back this week, and will know my final hp numbers (with the exhaust leak fixed and the engine fully broken in), but I may be leaving in early January for most of the year...so that may just work out!

It really doesn't matter cars where pretty much even but here are some details.
yes. we where doing it from a dig it was fun, me spining 1st 2nd and catching up on part of 3rd.

when it comes to who won the first 2 races It depends where was the camera and when he let off. I had no Idea when was the 1/8 or 1/4 of a mile so I let off by the camera. The first one from another camera it look like I won by a bumper. The second one it looks by a fender and the therd one he got me from the begining, I came out the hole way to hot. His car is really fast and hooks pretty good. I think he has more than and intake from what I heard, but you know the game..... he told me and intake and that is it. Just for the record I hate that spot, that road is so uneven that I was doing a dogy sometimes therefore I lose traction in one wheel.

Yeah, I know. Me and that other C6 Z tried a quick one from a dig, just for feces and giggles. I was scared as hell going over all the bumps.

I actually watched those races, and I didn't know where the "finish line" was myself.

I think there was one race where you were definitely ahead, and one where he was definitely ahead. Then the other race (I think it was the first) it looked like he passed some pillars first, but you were catching up, then he let off before you did. It was kinda hard to call, but he was ahead when he shut down I believe, and I think it looked like you were catching him though.

Either way, I'm sure everyone has a different story from what they were told. And if the people outside knew where the finish line was, it'd be a lot easier to call heh Good close races, nonetheless.

Ok, not 30 more...but 20 (maybe). I just got the call from MTI, and I made 501/480.

The night I raced him, I had it dyno'd at Prospeed...and it made 480/454.

Edit: Ooops, put the wrong torque down for the Prospeed dyno.

I wrote it wrong at first, I put 554tq for the first (lower) number. I fixed it now, and it shows the correct 454.

Yeah, when my engine was swapped the idiots at the dealership put the OLD header gaskets on and both had split and were causing exhaust leaks. Not only was that costing me horsepower, but (more importantly) it was sending false readings to the 02 sensors and the computer was dumping fuel. Didn't seem to be a huge problem, but was robbing me of some power. It's all fixed now, and I should also be getting a short shifter. I'm hoping it fixes my shifting "problem."

Cool vids. It is hard to tell who won vs the modded C5Z race. Pretty impressive considering it's just bolt-ons. I just got a stock Z and I'll try bring out to run maybe this weekend.

He has some issues with a header gasket. I'm sure Brad will elaborate when he sees this.

Hey, thats not true... Most corvettes Ive seen have at least one of the following modifications... Sometimes multiple or all of them:
    1. mirrored "corvette" front vanity plate
    2. chrome rear "corvette" differential cover
    3. "bowtie"-shaped rear exhaust outlets <== this is a tremendous performance increase

Lol. Would you believe there is a z06 owner somewhere on this planet who actually runs 7.60's (may be 7.70's.. i can't recall) with drag radials? I know I wouldn't.. You don't see anybody around here mod vettes that much... but they are out there.

    Peace,
    Josh

My STOCK C5 z06 runs 7.70's in the 1/8th with just drag radials. 12.05 in the 1/4. That's not too bad for a stock one.

My next tires will be either Nittos or BFG DRs.

Very impressive driving. Mid 11s are a few bolt-ons away.

If your going to drive on it with a drag radial I'd get the nittos. If you have a spare set of rims I'd get the bfg's, they cut consistant 1.70's.
