I'd put money on any 03+ Spec V against the Endeavor anywhere in the powerband w/ comparable drivers. High 14.70s are capable w/ just the Injen CAI. I/H/E and the Endeavor has no chance w/ a decent driver. If it's an 02 then no deal... 2nd gear, 3rd and final drive was crap in 02, so they were changed for 03+. Also be sure that it was a Spec V. There are SERs (NON SPEC Vs) in 02 and 03 as well. Pretty different than the SER Spec V.

For $15k, 175HP/180tq --> 14.90s stock is not a bad bang for the buck. Just my opinion though. I am not "star struck" by the Spec V. If I was I would have kept my built one. I do standby the fact that stock vs stock they will kill an Endeavor any way you slice it. But this is internet racing (based on experience). I'd like to see it go down.

Come on. You been racing long enuff 2 know that there are people out there who have the CAR and simply do NOT know what to do with it no matter what you tell them or how much you try to help them. Sure... the gears are VERY short in the V and it takes some getting used to in spirited driving. But he should have won (V) fairly easily. The argument for the car being around 15-16k new is valid. You end up with someone who would have other wise bought a Dodge Neon ending up with a car that has actual potential. Once they get their washer nozzle lights and a few interior neons they are done modding the car. Because of that, unfortunatly ,the spec v tends to be a moron magnet, you just happend to meet one @ plesant hill and 85.
^^ agreed. now let me say this : spec v's have alot of potential. givin to the right person they are going to have one sick ass car. i remember when the spec came out in 02 and was kicking ass everywhere. now those decent #'s that the spec has is not enough.
