how do you have a "line" when you're racing to a certain speed rather than over a set distance?

I was behind you guys when you raced (Rick and the Evo)
I dynoed my car right after that to see how much I was making and I only put down 333whp/340trq. After retuning I put down 377whp and 385trq. I think it would have been a better race if I didn't have an extra person in my car and the better tune. Oh, well.
I guess I learned my lesson about not messing with my engine management. I thought I was adjusting things correctly, but lost power and torque. I was way off from the original tune.
i want to try that cobra sometime, next time its convenient.
It's in the shop right now, and may be sold afterwards.
