The c5 runs 13's at best man. I was in the car right behind her last night. She did kick that vetts ass it was so great. She won by about 2-3 cars from a 5-10mph roll up to about 100 i think. Whatever it was she KILLED him.

LOL, I've been accumulating "road skills" for 10 years. Just because you drive hard with a helmet doesn't make you a better driver. You just spend more on tires and brakes. :p

No offense Val but while 10 years driving on ATL HWYs will teach you a thing or two, you'll be starting from scratch on the track. I can assure you.

See ya the next auto-x (march 13th at Gwinnett Fairgrounds), we'll see who's "good driver".

Marshall - Let's go, man! But we start from a dig, not a highway run, sucka! :P

Trey - You're cool so far as I've seen, I don't think I've ever met you in real life which is where I tend to make judgements on people, not over the internet or on forums, but stop being an autocross snob.

I appreciate your opinion but wonder why you felt the need to express it in a thread that doesn't concern you. I don't go into the auto-x forums and say "Get off the track and get some street time so you aren't just a pussy in a Subaru". So why come in mine? Best to just leave it alone.

doing good, how about you? I might come out to np this week, so I hope you are there; we can catch up then! I am loving the vette more and more. I do admit I miss the BOV, wastegate, and those other things but it is nice to jump in and start it right up without any real issues like the sil. i think what I love most about the vette is it's abilities in the mtns. each time I go I learn something about the car, and how I can improve myself. it is an amazing machine for being virtually stock and no where near the price of other comparable exotics.

Who's the snob? Just trying to expand your abilities and have fun where it's legal. Don't be scared to learn a few new tricks.

And this is the internet, I'm welcome in all public forums.

Hey, I've met Trey....and he's a real nice guy. He never came across as a snob...... but he's got a point.....most people that "street race" can't even control their own car and really know how to drive. Real racing is done on the track......so if u want "real kills and real stories" try the track before u kill someone.

Yeah, definitely - for the money the vette is one of the best options if you want the whole package: speed, looks, and handling, etc. I'll be there Thursday so come up, I miss ya!!!!

P.S. Val, My car ran 11.95 at the track this weekend...although I didn't get to drive it because the CDI fried the coil packs on the 3rd run!!! But hopefully I'll make it to Commerce this friday...without Dan (he'll be traveling with the NDRA soon since he is the Tech inspector for them now) He always does this, doesn't he? Steals all of my cars. I WAN'T A DIVORCE!!

the really funny part is what trey is saying is absolutely true. Its funny but in the hands of a skilled driver a mazda 3 can out manuever an evolution stock for stock. Point of the matter is though, the c5r vettes ran for a 24 hour straight lemans race, where were the evolutions during that time? I can almost promise you that a c5r would smack the snot out of an evolution on the track, once again stock for stock. Its all in the driver, and obviously he wasnt a good driver
