Default civic vs a losing battle

Yeah, i knew it was a losing battle. The guy had a c6 vert for me to run last weekend and i didn't. Contacting him over the week and he said he'll bring out his c6z. I was like whatever, i don't mind losing.

First run he left t/c and when he shifted to second i jumped out alittle.

2 runs after that i kept hitting boost cut and he would start to pull on me more. As soon as he got 2-2.5 cars i would shut it down.

    Each run was about 40-120.

My car still with just a stock 1.8 non vtec with a greddy kit(18g turbo) on 14psi

    His car stock c6z.

Only video from it in mexico. We had no camera car or go pro.

Yeah, we started at a 40ll. He forgot tc was still on.. may have thought it wouldn't have matter.

I will be getting a rematch again with him, but will probably 16-18psi, some dr's and methanol.

No reason to go any higher. Why go more than 120? It's a risk messing around on the street as it is.

I agree terrible quality. Videos will be better from here on out.

    Disagree...and I have a pretty quick vette.

Ever see a Honda hatch w/a turbo...they dont start pulling till 120 mph...lol

Hp vs Aerodynamics vs weight....I take hp and weight all the time...aero helps but 300whp and 2000lbs is a deadly combo

Not saying that they pulled me...but they are quick when really modified due to their weight and traction...they usually cant catch traction till 70+mph....so when they can put 300-350 whp to the ground in 2000lbs then the sucker starts to move.

I havent lost to one yet..but then again I havent ran a truly legit quick one...most of the ones I have encountered have been sub 300whp and usually I dont run....they want to so they can see how they would fair...I usually wont waste my gas....

Also depends on the turbo too. Granted this one spins till over 70, but that's these 205 neo gens too.Lol. I know some civics that still aren't spooling their turboes by then, lmfao.

Mowe, you kinda sound like a friend of mine.. thinks his supra(475rwhp) and 3800-4000lbs with driver, thinks i am wasting his time for a friendly run.

Granted i would be wasting your time.

Let me rephrase that...I dont waste my gas on cars that I know I will win against....now granted there are "sleepers" but in MOST cases you can tell whats what and if its gonna be in the ball park...I am not the car to measure how you would do against....I dont want to waste my time w/that kind of stuff....Your friends car is a little heavy..I am about 600-700 lbs lighter w/more whp so ....althought it isnt hard for him to jump 50-100 whp at a time..lol

I am not quite sure if he has to do with weight or the suspensions....but even supras have trouble at 3500lbs and 600whp...they dont hook very well under 70mph either....some cars do and others dont..have to ask a civic expert on that one.

I knew what you ment, mowe. At your power level and weight, i wouldn't waste your time. His power level and weight, would prob make for an interesting run. Yeah, he has another boost setting that he uses with methanol also, but no numbers that he will disclose. I'll get my run with him though after i make some more adjusments and part swapping.

As far as the spinning.. could be not stiff enough in the rear, shitty tires or to much hp for the size tire.

That's why my car is quick for what it is. Gutted 240' s don't weigh all that much plus 358whp makes for a pretty decent setup.

I honesty don't know what it weighs atm. All sound deadening is gone all plastic interior and its a coupe so it lighter then the hatch. Yes dynoed at 358whp 334trq at 20psi. Just got 740cc injectors and power fc with 272 cams. Should make 380whp at 20psI if not more.

Most "fast" Hondas don't hook because they are boosted, making 3x more torque than stock and haven't changed their gear ratios, don't have an LSD, they are slammed and running a ton of camber up front, out of alignment, and on a shitty tire, with worn out bushings, worn out shocks, and unknown spring rates.

And so many people think that Hondas just don't hook........

A properly setup, and balanced FWD will put down a good bit of TQ.. It takes some effort, but can be done!!

    Well Said Sir!
