The convertibles do but you can get an rs4 for right at 65k. Dont know that I would pay that much for that car, would rather have an 2003 RS6 instead I think. Which is the 4.2l with twin turbo's. =) And you can pick those up for about 30-40k right now. But they were in the 80's new.

You've completely missed my point... 100%. It's not the fact that daddy gave you a car to race around in... it's the fact that you dare talk shit about how much money someone else spent on their car after the fact that you were given a car by daddy for free. I'm not sure if you can't put 2 + 2 together or simply don't know what irony means...

BTW, trying to make up bank account numbers and such won't impress anyone here.

What he is saying.....is we could give 2 shits if you were given the car or not (he isn't giving you shit for getting a free car), but you should keep your thoughts to yourself as to how someone else spends THEIR money.

That's fine, I am expecting 13's on street tires and low boost......we'll see. I'm sure I have plenty enough for the WS6 though and probably your SS from a roll ()

Cai headers exhaust and cam is what I'm gunning for. Avg power with the mods is 450-470whp from what I've seen.

My cousin's '10 SS made 403hp/410tq with JUST American Racing Headers, cat delete and tune. With an aggressive enough cam and decked heads, I have no doubts that 500rwhp is attainable. Blake, do you do your work yourself or do you go to a shop?

I went back through this thread and saw some misinformation that needs to be cleared up. I work part time in an LSX based shop so I figured I'd drop some knowledge for a second...

They were also, however, the heaviest of all the 4th gen 4bodies fully optioned. IMO they're the best looking of all the 4th gens, and the anniversary TA is especially nice in blue and white.
There was never a "3:73" option for F-bodies. Autos with a steel driveshaft got 2:73's, Autos with an alum driveshaft and/or "performance axle ratio" option got 3:23's, and ALL 6 speed cars got a 3:42. There is no such thing as a factory installed 3:73 geared car in a regular LS1 powered F-body. You are correct on the 01-02's being the best years, but everything else is incorrect. 01-02 cars actually got a SMALLER cam than the previous years to compensate for intake charge due to lack of the EGR valve. They came with 241 casting cylinder heads, that flow the exact same as all the other years. There's no such thing as "extra flow" from 01-02 cars. Furthermore, ALL 98-02 cars weigh within a certain range of each other. The Trans Ams weigh about 150lbs (on average) more than the Camaro's due to the heavier lumbar seats and pop up headlights, but there's no significance in weight difference from year to year.

LS1 GTO's got the same exact engine that 01-02 F-bodies got. Absolutely nothing is different, except the PCM controlling the engine.

No. Again, the cam is not "more aggressive" at all. 01-02 Fbody/04 GTO cams actually have less total duration than previous years, making it less aggressive.

That's cool. My tuner know's his shit and only charges $50/hr + the initial credit to purchase the rights to the VIN which is typically $100 depending on the vehicle. His install prices are also about half of what the big shops charge but i'm willing to bet that he pays more attention to detail and does better quality work than said big shops. I would also be willing to bet that his knowledge on the LSX platforms surpasses that of the big shops. His name is Josh and he can be reached on LS1Tech.com (screen name Damian) or I can PM you his phone number. Let me know if you're interested.

The 241 heads are superior castings.
The 01-02 cam DOES have slightly less duration and lower total lift numbers, but its also ground with a more aggressive ramp profile, has more advance, and significanly less overlap (around four degrees difference).
The overlap change was what allowed for removal of the EGR, not the duration change.

You're right on the gears. Big oversight on my part.

    In what way???

I have flowed 853's, 806's, and 241's all side by side on a bench. There is about a 3cfm difference between all of them.

The 241s have slight more 'meat' to work with is what my head porter told me (Lloyd Elliot), even though they all have roughly the same numbers out of the box. On a piggy bank budget, they'd be the best heads to have ported if you couldnt snag a decent set of LS6 heads (243)
