240 vs mustang gt w/125 shot (for money)

I was at the bp getting ready to go home and a 2003 rolls up eyeballing the faster cars up there so a buddy of mine asked him if he wanted to race my POS. The first thing he says is for how much, I am like damn why for money but its whatever, he says 3000 dollars. I didnt feel comfortable racing with that kind of money on the line so I told hime I will only run for 100. Everyone gets on the hwy and we get a 40 mph roll and I pull him right away. 8 cars by the time we hit 130mph. He pays up but not before me mentions he wants to run me again for 500 dollars w/ his other mustang. I told him I will be out for a while and told him where I will be at. He shows up 1 hour later with a red 2003 mustang gt w/125 shot. After about 30min of debating we took to the hwy. After a bunch of bad starts we get a good one and I still pull him by at least 6 cars. He acts like he wants to run by the way he jumped of the hwy but I stay with him. After 10 min of excusses why he lost and Why he didnt want to pay a quickly persuaded him otherwise. He went to a bank and pulled 500. A few min. later 30 cars pull up and will talking to others about the race he says he wants to race me again for another 500 from a dig with the same car. I declined but I told him I might give him another run tomorrow.

dnt know about the 240 winning from a dig. sr tranny are weak, if u get traction better hope traaany dnt break. if ur tranny dnt break u better hope u hook. mustangs are nasty off the line with drag radials and they aint scared to put some 275 or 295's on the rear. id still root for the 240 though. good story.

yeah,i got 275/40r17 nitto drag radials on my car and they hook good but i haven't tried a dead dig launch on the street. With 585 ft/lbs of torque at the wheels not sure if they would hold or not...probably not. an 03 gt with 125 shot is not that fast but with just normal radials traction would be hard to come by.

if the mustang dont spray off the line with the amount of weight transfer it has over the 240 hooking is a good possibility. i guess it could just come dwn to who can drive their car better bc the 240 sounds like its pretty quick. sr's be the sh*t.

I'd imagine a GT wouldn't be much to worry about, but a modded blown Cobra with a few choice parts could be quick especially from a dig on drag radials. Seeing as Jeremy beat him with the distance he did before I'd be willing to bet that he could launch relatively easily to keep from breaking anything and still catch the guy.

the guy in the supra almost ran into me trying to watch the race!
