No. I never went to college nor do I ever plan to. My first job IT after turning 18 was working for a direct contractor of IBM, after that I worked in a systems engineer position for a large IT consulting firm in Atlanta. They paid for all of the certs that I obtained.
Definitely not. And sorry Thacker, All those certs don't mean squat. I had friends in high school that were getting those before they even graduated.

Back in the day, those certs used to mean a lot more, but now, it's just not the same. Now you need a college degree, or know someone, just to get your foot in the door. My sister works for IBM, and has been with them for the past 7yrs, and all these companies outsource many of their employees, especially for the important projects. Lots of people from India, as they seem to have an abundance of smart computer programmers, and engineers, with college degrees who get the work done better, and do it for less money.
