    Default z06xorz vs sr-twinky

    Sr20 vs z06

Yesterday, a kid i know was going to trade his 1996 Range Rover HSE 4.6 for a 1997 sr20 240.

so a few of us went along to look at the car...

We got there and it was pretty awesome.

75k mile, dark green Nissan 240, sr20, front mount, turbo, exhaust, injectors....fatty 18 inch wheels, 275's out back.
Eibach springs, tokico shox, carbon hood, recaro seats, dvd screen in dash, playstation, vcr, huge amp, speakers all around, u get the picture

We were pretty amazed why this guy wanted to trade for the rover because this car was extremely well put together and very nice.

    i wanted it for myself

oh did i mention it made 425 rwhp?
with a 30 shot of nitrous

    so long story short
The 240 seller test drives the rover, and likes it and wants to do the deal.
The rover owner wants to test drive the 240.

The bottle has some spray in it so on the test drive they want me to go along with my car and race to see if the car really made 425 rwhp.

    im liek, sure whatever
so we jump on the loop, and go down and turn around.

midway on the trip he punched it beside me, and it took off pretty good but it sounded liek it was detonating, spark knocking.

im like hmm, could be waste gate or somehtign.

so we turned around and headed back towards home...

we get lined up, in 2nd gear, about 35-40

and the passenger (owner of the 240 at the time) gives the 1-2-3 go sign.

and driver (potential 240 buyer) doesnt go.. so i didnt go

so im liek wtf.. .then boom he went.

he was just so slow to go, after the countdown that i thoight he wasnt payign attention.

he runs through 2-3-4 gear, .. while i was still cruising in 2nd with my window down.

hmm...but i heard something again... hmmm
    that car pinging liek hell.

i kinda chuckle to myself, thinking " damn that chit gona blow up pingign liek that"

so then i catch back up and we race from a 35-40 roll....

    they sprayed me.

i pulled steady up to about 100.. when i shifted into 4th i was about 5 cars out.

all the while, its pinging liek crazy

    then...

    BOOOOOOM! OMGXORZ!!!

    HUGE PLUM OF WHITE SMOKE.!!

    he popped the motor!!

It looks liek sr20 spy hunter behind me.

they drove it back home, and it was chugging a ton of air out of the crank case. and pourign oil out of the crank vent.

    the motor was done.

the seller still wants to trade the sr for the rover.

but he wanted to sweeten the deal because the motor was toast.

he had a 1996 jeep cherokee that he wanted to sell.

    he was askign 3000.

so he knocks 1500 off the price and we go ahead and buy the jeep.(to compensate for the blown motor)

and we left the rover, went and got a trailor and used the jeep to haul the 240 home.

thats the kid pullin the motor today in some of those pics...

i did a compression test on it just now.

    as follows

    1- 125 psi
    2 - 105 psi
    3 - ZERO
    4- 145

    yep its popped

when it gets back together, man this thing is nice.

what yall think bout dat dere story?

    best wun all week eh?

here are a few pics of the car...
