Man... if I said I only raced for 10k there would be 20 threads on 4 different forums pop up about what a ***** I was. You guys are letting Johnny Tran off too easy.

I think its obvious Johnny Tran does not have 10k to put up on a race, he just knows no one else would do so either.....
wouldnt call a stock evo fast, but they are quick........and still nice cas for the money
I have been to the track with Willium multiple times. He ran consistant low 12's at 110+ with 1.6-1.8 60'.. granted that was on street tires and a tranny that was going south. This was also on his old setup and at Commerce (****ty track). I have no doubt in my mind that Willium would walk thacker the whole way down the track

william will not beat that gto if thacker is spraying. i had a gto with the juice and it would cut 1.6 60' times all day and trap 123mph so the evo better bring it hardOriginally Posted by ThackerSS

hell i dont even like thacker but i would put up 10k on the goat that evo would get raped from a dig![]()
You only trapped 123?Originally Posted by GTslOw

*edit:I am just talking out of my ass. Of course this will never happen because my car is bone stock with intake / exhaust and I would never put nitrous on my Daily.*

I dont understand why he wont do it then. Im not buying his "its not worth my time" excuse, nor his "$10k bet". Put up or shut up.
so, do we have a race?
if you want the best bang for your buck buy a cts-v![]()
Im gonna have to disagree. I love those cars, but def. not best bang for your buck.Originally Posted by 4drZ06

Not even in the same ballpark really.
I test drove more cobras than I could count. I loved the power I just couldn't get over how plastic and cheap feeling the interior was. Everytime I power shifted I could hear plastic crackle around in the interior. I had enough of that from my Camaro already.
cobras are nice.but stock for stock when new........corvettes have always been great cars for the money
even though i hate mustangs with a passion, the cobra is a great car.........even if id rather have a slower 02 Trans Am
Funny considering a Cobras MSRP was higher than the Goats.Originally Posted by SicStang03
Wonder why ford jacked the price up on those? All that plastic must have been expensive.
and yet they discontinued your so called cheap goat... hmm... puzzling?Originally Posted by ThackerSS

Hell they even discontinued the Corvette for 83.

The reason for discontinuing the Supra is because Toyota couldnt justify selling a $60k car under the Toyota name....but that was back in 98. Lots of rumors have been going around about a new Supra.
The G35 was the Skyline in Japan and Europe, and they dont call the new GTR the R35 for nothing.
The camaro/firebird got discontinued because Mustangs were trouncing them in the sales department. Not to mention they are coming back out...though I know you are fully aware of that fanboy.
As for the Chevelle, I dont know about that one.
Nice try....1 out of 5 aint bad...![]()

How many cars can you name that will run 10's with less than 25K invested... Obviously I am not talking about taking a shell and throwing a motor in it
Best bang for your buck for what? Because its definitely not drag racing... and last time I checked throwing a cobra around a road course was like watching a brick slide across ice.Originally Posted by SicStang03
Ford did two things right with those cars. Forged botton end, and a super charger.
Now, here are the things that are wrong.
Weak input shaft on the tremec t56
Infamous head problems. tick tick tick.
Weak ass glass like IRS.
WEIGHT.
Lack of cubic inches.
Interior. They share the exact same design, seating position, cheap ass materials as a v6 Mustang.
V6 Mustang.

If you are judging how good a car is and "bang for the buck" simply by its straight line performance than a Cobra gets beat in that regard also.
How many cars will run 10's with less than 25k invested? TONS.
My camaro will run that with 8k invested over the purchase price.
Any of the LS motors are 10 second capable with bolt ons and a 150 shot and tires. That is about $3000 if they pay for all the labor and the tune.
The ONLY thing a cobra has going for it is the fact that you can throw a pulley on it, and make about 90 more RWHP than stock.Even then you are only looking at 117-120 traps at the track at mid 11's best to low 12's. Not really impressive IMO for 450ish RWHP. Other then that you are looking at an expensive blower port job, aftermarket blower etc. Once you get into that the Cobra's playing field evens out with any other car that was around its price range.
they never discontinued the gto, it was only planned to be out in 2004-2006 newb. Holden already had a new platform in mind.
in my defense! haha =p.... 2004 z06= 3200lbsish and 26-30k with low miles... ls6 405hp....
2004 cts-v 3800lbsish 4 doors, trunk,room for honeys, golf clubs,dead bodies and groceries... ls6 405hp ( i payed 24.5k with 26k miles and extended warranty)....http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...7/interior.jpg
