    i'm sure she'll bring it out when we get it figured out. there's a shop in fla that had an issue similar to hers with another z, but she's kinda hesitant to drive all the way down there and spend close to a grand on gas, hotel, and tuning which i cant blame her at all for. i think it has to do with timing issues at different rpms... i dunno... we'll get it figured out and have some fun with it. its definalty peppy and strong in the midrange, but its just lacking a few up top. in time, sir... in time. good things only come with patience.

    darkstar6069, when you say Auburn are you referring to Auburn, Al or Auburn, Ga??? If its Auburn, Al....I would like a crack at your car. I ran my brothers old AMS 35R Evo back when I was stock and he got one car on me to 125mph or so. No point in going beyond that, the 5th gear on the Evo is retarded compared to 1 through 4.

    I had a bolt on cam'ed Evo back in the day.....freaking cars are a blast and I would not drop what you have got for a Supra unless the Supra was in stellar condition(saw your post on Supraforums).

Well I'm going to Auburn University to hang out with some friends and for my girlfriends birthday since her best friend goes to school down there, but unfortunately I won't be driving my car. When I come back I am down for a run if you want. How much power was your brothers car making when you raced him?

    My girlfriend still goes to Auburn(I graduated 1 year ago in May from AU). I wasn't going to drive my Vette either, but if you were taking your ride, I was going to take her down. I much prefer racing in Alabama than here in Georiga, much less of a chance of being caught.

    My brothers car was making 405awhp on pump gas, 93oct. My stock times were in crap DA air, which is why my trap speeds don't make sense with the outcome of our multiple races. My car is weird in the fact that the better my 60' is, the faster my trap speed is. Due of this characteristic, she rolls on much harder than my trap speeds indicate anyways.

    BTW, depending on the numbers of my new setup, I would like a shot at you on 30psi/race gas/AEM too.

    hmmm well I'm just a tad bit over what your brother was making so it should be a good race. Unless you are putting down close to 530whp I really don't want to fill up with race gas just to do it since it's kind of expensive

    Well, I was stock when I ran him when he was making 405awhp. I can only guess me being lighter and having a fat power curve was what made it so close because my car only dyno'ed 385whp/378wtq stock. My bolt on 11sec run below was in crappier air than my stock runs

    I will be on pump gas with my new setup with no power adder.

    Do you live in Auburn?

    no I live in carrolton. From the sounds of it, you will beat me on pump gas, but that's just guessing from your mph trap. any idea how much your car weighs?

    3200lbs. You have a better clutch, tranny, and the ability to rev past 8k that he didn't, so I am betting that will make us a close race .

    Edit: FWIW, I only make 416whp and 418wtq with my bolt ons. We will be a good run

    It wasn't H.
    It was just I/E + tune. Stock LS3 heads are aleady pretty damn beastly.

    Intake, headers, and an exhaust gave me 31whp and 40wtq(which is average from what I have seen). From that 31whp and 40wtq, I picked up 5mph in the 1/4 mile in a 660' worse DA day than my stock times. I would expect my car to put down some 11.80's @ 122ish on a slightly negative DA day.

    Gotcha. The 5mph is a nice gain, but i just thought you would see more power out of that. I'm no LSx follower though so I dont know the facts. Thats a nice TQ gain too. Either way, you are still faster than me

    We will see how the first race goes so we can get an idea how I will do with my new setup. BTW, you only need to put in a couple of gallons. You can drain all of the pump gas from the bottom of the tank by removing the drain bolt.

    this should be a fun time since we are all relatively close in power. Darkstar we should be fairly close on high boost since you are around 410 whp.

    my ignition cylinder locked up. they might have to order the part from australia. they're paying for it all tho, including my rental car, so hopefully they wont drag their feet with it. thank god for a cool dealership that let me keep my warranty

    Collins and Diesel will be a good run...

    Also,a stock cobra at Commerce with street tires will have one hell of a time getting into the 12's.. That track sux asssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.

    technically, its not a "loaner"... its a rental through enterprise rent-a-car that they happen to be paying for, so my options are limited... the "'coolest" thing they have that i can get would be a 4 door silverado, which is what i'm shooting for.

    shiit man, it really doesnt matter. I just know I spin pretty bad comming out of first. Even if we are going from a 10mph roll, thats cool. I just dont want the rear end taking the initial shock of a launch.

    If you hop at all the rear end is going to leak.. I wouldn't do anything under a 40 roll untill you get a brace...

    I haven't been to Commerce this year yet but I went last year when I had intake and exhaust and ran a 13.6 ... Granted I also learned how to drive stick on this car and IRS is a pain to launch on street tires. Next time I go I hope to be well into the 12's... maybe 11's

    Although there was a guy with a KB 2.2 that couldn't get past 12.2 and he was right at 600rwhp on DRs

    Your launch technique has a lot do with the survival of your rear end. I do an initial engagement before a quick release to take the shock out of the d/t as much as possible. When you do it right, it will keep you from hopping and still let you cut excellent 60's.

    Diesel and Collins, would you guys want to jump into this little meet w/ me, darkstar, and jumpin as well?

    Yeah, Im game.

    Terminator Cobras are notorious for horrible wheel hop. I hear that the tires are a big culprit of the problem. I plan on doing all the remidies to get rid of the wheel hop but I want to keep the IRS because I didnt buy the car just to go in a straight line.

    Don't waste your time or money doing anything but springs/tires/FLSFC's... The bushings help but the are expensive as ****.. Not to mention the install is a huge PITA.. As long as you have a sticky tire it's all good

    those are first on my list of suspension related mods. I want to get caster/camber plates before I install springs though.

    Do them at the same time.. You have to drop everything anyways and it just goes back in. You have to drill a 13/32" hole on the strut tower though.. It's easy besides that
