Supercharged Miata vs. Foxbody Mustang

So hanging out lastnight, my friend who has a Mustang, and just put a new exhaust on it, wanted to run for shits and giggles from a roll. I had jsut gotten my car back from the shop where it got a header, 2.5" mid-pipe (no cats) and a new tranny, im also running 4-5psi.

So we get on the highway and get a couple go's in, but not a good line-up-and-go run. Finally we get our chance. From about 50, i let him hit it before i do. I punch it (in 3rd) and start pulling away... not like a ass whooping, but i pulled decently and stayed ahead 'til about 90 or so..probably would have stayed ahead is we kept going. Fun stuff... i had no idea on the outcome of the race before we started.

The lx coupes can easily run 14.2s-14.3s with a stick and good driver. If you run low 15s in any 5.0 mustang (except a auto vert) you suck.

I've never driven a stock 5.0... so I can't judge how fast they are, I just know from what I've heard the best they can do is low 15's high 14's, but like with any car, there are alot of variables.... model, driver, transmission, tires, temp/humidity.... but anyways, as I was saying in my first post... stock 5.0 mustangs are nothing to worry about... The only reason you ever need to worry about them is because VERY few of the fox's out there are stock lol.. never know what your gonna get.

also remember that the few stock fox bodies left are getting some age and alot of miles on them.. 2 of my closest friends have them, and there is a big difference between a high mileage one and a freshly rebuilt one with say a set of gears
